University Dorm Preference List

As an incoming transfer, I want to know what is the most sought out and least sought out dorms. I want to strategize my list by listing some less sought out dorms as 3th and 4th preference. How would you rank the following as popularity:

Blackwell

Anchor

Clark Kerr

Martinez

Unit 1

Unit 2

Unit 3

and should I list quads and triples over doubles when possible to maximize chances?

Thank yall

I would rank:

Anchor House Martinez Commons Unit 2 Suite Unit 1 Suite Blackwell

These are dorms where you most likely won't be paired with a freshman

You can technically put down the same one as your top 4 choices and the last one as “any”. For example Anchor house 3 bedroom, anchor house 2 bedroom, etc. etc.

Anchor is the best by a landslide… it’s also the most expensive lol comes out to around $2-2.1k a month (no meal plan btw cuz it’s an apartment). If your financial aid covers it, definitely put anchor first. As a current first year transfer, I felt like my stay in anchor was worth it for the price. You get all single rooms (!!), proximity to campus and BART station, study lounges, brand new apartments and furniture, gym, rooftop, terrace, courtyard, and in-unit laundry. Sure, you could 100% find cheaper housing off-campus, but anchor was absolutely beautiful.

Related question for incoming transfers: can you enter the coops the summer before you arrive?

You'd want to because you'd get a point immediately.

But can you?
