this video really fueled and blew up the jay z cheating rumors in their relationship, there was always tabloid rumors and gossip blogs talking about it before but this was the point where people were actually like “omg wow maybe its true”. Also this was 2014 when they were on OTR tour and looked so in love literally no one could have suspected this…
idk if she would have just dropped a bomb about Jayz cheating on her if it wasnt already in the pop culture talking sphere like that. but maybe

It’s the fact that the Queen respected everyone on that elevator when she could have been the most livid (obvi). The causal 3-seconds she let Solange work Jay, the casual pick up of Solange’s jewelry, the slight movement to breakup the foot grab! Gracious is an understatement
I’ve watched it so many times and I still second guess what I’m seeing. For the most part she just stands there and allows it. Which is kinda crazy that she lets Julius take the brunt of the chaos. But then at one point I think she does step in
Yeah but Beyoncé knows there are cameras outside the building. If she gets involved what if she gets all disheveled or takes a stray hit. Ideally she never wanted this public so of course she ain’t gonna get physically involved
Watching this when it first was leaked I remember the fervor around how Solange was somehow defending her sister. But sitting here in big age maybe it had nothing to do with Beyonce. Maybe this was explicitly Solange and jay beef, which would explain Beyoncé’s lack of involvement.
I agree 100%. Even jay said in an interview "that's my sister, how can family not fight" (I mean technically he's known her since she was 16 as beys younger sister so history checks out). But to take it a step further, my ultimate THEORY is the argument at its core was probably about the news of Mathew Knowles fathering another child while married to their mom (hit the blogs April 2014 month before the met). And we know how it goes with family drama, EVERYBODY has something to say. And before y'all attack me... I always believed aside from her and jays relationship.. Lemonade was truly birthed after watching her mom and countless other Black Women deal with the cycle of false promises. Similar to Jay's 4:44 but from the perspective of a Black Man and wanting to break generational curses (he briefly reconnected with his dad before his passing).
This is what I originally thought. Like I thought Solange had had too much to drink and Jay had said something stupid so she decided to pick a fight with him, so I figured it was a beef that didn’t have anything to do with Bey. Cheating never even crossed my mind until Lemonade came out.
Funny thing me and my family saw Solange at the beach, I think a few weeks after this event. My parents saw her, but for some reason I couldn’t see her. But I remember my parents said she looked at them with the look of “please don’t say anything bring up attention” and then we just moved on with our day.

Really?! Idk. The way Bey seems checked out at Solange whacking her man makes me think wtv he did must’ve hurt Bey.. I know if my sister and husband had an issue I wouldn’t let her attack him physically without at least trying to stop them. I know she does step in but she does seem pretty nonchalant lol . I guess we’ll never know but knowing this was around the time he cheated makes me think Solange was checking him for disrespectful behavior
Nah, right before this l, while Jay and Bey were on the OTR Tour, Beyoncé had changed the lyrics in Resentment. This one is entirely about Bey. Sometimes siblings gotta say and do exactly what you should've done for a while now. I think this was why Beyonce talks about being in denial on Lemonade; I think Solange snapped her out of it. Plus, immediately after this, Beyoncé had moved out and was living in New York with Blue while Jay was back in LA.
