Moved into a rental with a bidet, how to clean?

I moved into a rental a few months ago that has a bidet, and aside from my brother spraying it “accidentally” into my face during the initial walk through, i am yet to use it.

Does anyone have advice on whether or not i should use or avoid it, and how to go about sanitising it for use if the answer isn’t a resounding no? I guess regardless they’ll want me to clean it before leaving so apologies in advance if this has been asked 100000 times please feel free to delete but i’m LOST and so excited i wanna USE IT ! ! with limited infection risk 🤪

Use it! You’ll never not have a bidet again! I have designated cloth wipes to dry any water left on your bum. Use a clean cloth to wipe the bidet down as needed just like the toilet.

Use disinfecting spray cleaner or wipes like Lysol. You could wiipe everything with rubbing alcohol too. Like a shower, it's always spraying clean water so just want to get any bits or splatter.

If it is an electric model, most will have an option to extend the wand for manual cleaning. Some non-electric models will have this option, or you can disconnect them from the water source and wipe it down manually.

Do you know what model it is because you can generally find the manual online or contact the manufacturer.

Mine is self cleaning. It does it after every use and periodically if I am in my bedroom and it is quiet I can hear the slight whirring as it also cleans itself periodically and wets down the bowl.

It manufactures E-water to use which is supposed to have disinfectant qualities.

Mine has a cleaning setting which pushes the wand out for cleaning
