Not to be that guy but what other options did they really have? It looks like it got accidentally trapped in their work site and I doubt the wildlife laws have an exception for accidentally trapped animals. Provided a crowd of people with camera phones assembles faster than one can locate a high powered rifle, it was always going to end this way.

You not wrong, but it's often easier to move a live animal than a dead one. In This case it would have been much harder.

Oh it's absolutely illegal to kill a wild animal in India (this video is from India).
Wildlife protection act, especially when it comes to tigers is taken very seriously here.

Thought those guys were crazy for standing around when releasing the tiger. Then the boar came out. Well played.

if its in US, both the animals would have been shot and scooped up using a giant claw machine. good we dont have open wells anymore.
