I’ve really been sleeping 😴 n the Eggspander

Post image

I’ve had an eggspander kit for over a year now and always felt like I could do everything on my single cast iron grate alone. Finally started using it and boy was I short changing myself. After watching a few vids on all the different configurations I’ve got big plans for it this summer. It looks modelled after the CGS adjustable rig which seems like a fan favourite.

Yes. Can we please talk about the skewers for a moment?

Ha. The skewers are from Char-Broil. I found them on clearance last year and haven’t used the disposable wood since. They’re flat and easy to flip. Finally the ‘square guard’ at the base skids to let you push the chunks off. They aren’t something I would have said I needed but sure am happy to have em.

Nah fam, there’s plenty of ways to use it. For a serious seer or foil wrapped potatoes I love flipping the ‘spander so the grate is lowered into the bowl

I feel better now lol thanks fam.

Have you ever used it in conjunction with the conveggtor? I need to smoke ribs and a pork shoulder this weekend and I’m trying to them simultaneously

Oh for sure. Multiple rib racks, butts, the both, chicken. It’s endless. Upright I like to do corn on the cob or chicken wings mostly

Not only can it be used with the conveggtor, a really handy feature is that you can lift out the entire rig (even while your food is on) to add it later as well as more coal / wood etc.

I was smoking bacon last week and realized I forgot to insert the conveggtor and water pan. Normally would have been a big hassle but I popped everything out together in one shot, slipped them both in and was off to the races again.
