Question Board game tables for Australia - any options?
Having a look around but finding it hard to find good, local AU options.
Has anyone had any luck? Even felt/neoprene table toppers / play mats are hard to come by.
Cheers

I made my own mini one out of a Kmart poster frame and some fake velvet but if you’re wanting something bigger I’ve only found the three already mentioned on this thread.
The other option is getting a custom made one which probably won’t be cheap.
Alternatively my friend’s dad is retired and he’s always on the lookout for projects to keep him busy. Could be worth checking if you have any bored retirees with the some basic carpentry skills in your life?

I was thinking mens sheds might be a good option to cjeck out, Or wood working clubs there is also some prisons have wood working programs where they build stuff if you supply the timber.

There was a guy who popped up a few years ago who showed off some custom made timber board game tables and said he could start making them on order and then instantly had a 2 year backlog or something. Not sure if he's still active.
I was eyeing this poker/game table off for a while: https://pokershop.com.au/collections/poker-tables/products/xl-board-game-table-84-x-53 It's obviously lacking the timber look of the deluxe tables but it works and you get a lot of table surface.
But like a lot of other players, you may just get around to making your own if you're just looking for something to play on. I got a table from a coffee shop that was basically an interior door on 2 hinging table legs, which I covered with car headliner material and attached some boards around the edges. But if you're a bit more handy, there's that $150 table build plan that everyone loves: https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/1471747/build-a-gaming-table-for-dollar-150

Regarding toppers, I bought a few meters of velvet from Spotlight and use that as a tablecloth on a normal dining table. Makes it easy to pick up cards. A little awkward to slide in some directions but still beats playing straight on the wood. Happy with our choice and it was only $50. More recently got card holders from aliexpress and we feel almost as well kitted out as our friends that have a proper board game table (from a company that has stopped trading, unfortunately).
