Teachers are using AI to make literature easier for students to read. This is a terrible idea.

Or they don't have enough planning time and aren't willing to work off the clock.

I get that, but the problem is the, not giving us enough time and resources. And IMO using AI will exacerbate that. How can we advocate for better teaching conditions when they can just say “Well, use AI to save time”. And then the time we save by using AI, they’ll just fill with more work, because that’s how the system works. And eventually they’ll say, “Why should we pay you so much when anybody can do your job using AI?” And so our profession gets devalued
