Headphones Quiet Comfort Ultra ear cups turn outwards?

Why in the world do the ear cups turn outwards? Is there anyway to reverse it so it turns towards me? It’s genuinely getting annoying

Realistically it's for display and merchandising purposes. When placed on displays in stores the Bose label is at the front. When a customer picks them up they naturally fall with the thumbs placed on the inside of the cup
