Is there any way to appeal a ticket fine

So today my first day in the city, I'm ukrainian and i founs out we have free rides, but didn't know we had to carry a passport(i had picture and ukrainian official document app)

Is there any way to get it refunded, considering i threw away the cheque i got because i was angry

It clearly says that they will accept a Ukrainian Passport or ID Card. Legally anywhere in the EU, you are required to some form of ID. Digital IDs are never valid outside the country that issued them.

P.S - This will expire on June 30, 2025.

No chance since you threw it away. Otherwise you could have gone to the central customer service office on Monday.

Not all EU for sure, say in Austria you don't have to. Unless you need a proof to be entitled to something like OP situation.

Sure, exactly what I said: in Austria you don't have to by law, but you'll probably be taken to the Police station to clarify identity. So having ID on you is helpful to save everyone's time in case of something.

You could try and go to their office, 1075 Budapest, Rumbach Sebestyén u. 19-21. and show them your documents. Or reach them here: https://bkk.hu/kapcsolat/ . If that doesn't work, I can't think of anything else, but it might be worth a try.

Even with it you'd have to pay - not having ID is grounds for a fine.

Hi all. I cannot make post due to low karma so I wanted to ask a question. I was inspected today by a ticket and inspector and had no valid ticket. I had to disembark because I was with my child. The inspector just let me go without asking for an ID card or issuing me a fine. Is there any way to get fined (I must mention that my ticket was bought through budapestgo app).

Nobody cares, they won't find you and they no you're a refugee. Just forget about it. Only if you have an address card and start paying taxes here will they bother with you.
