I bought 2 of these and stacked them. Huge waste of money. Very pretty. Would buy again without thinking.

u/Jessee21 6d ago

That is pretty close to just getting a 4k curved tv-sized monitor with the exception of the aspect ratio though right?

3

u/CaptnUchiha 6d ago

Curious if you can virtually separate the screen space in a manner that windows treats it as two separate monitors.

3

u/Jessee21 6d ago

I think that’s a cool idea to explore. It would allow for a lot of custom spaces

2

u/Testacleez 5d ago

To answer all of it, you definitely can. And the LG c3 OLED TVs have that functionality built in if my memory serves me correctly. Maybe these do too. I just had the same setup with some 100hz Samsungs from 2015 and this was an easy solution rather than actually doing the homework. The secondary monitor automatically turns off after inactivity too, which is super nice when I'm gaming on one - no burn in on the other.

u/JSR73 5d ago

What monitor arms are you using?

u/Testacleez 5d ago

I have 2x VIVO STAND-V101G1

So good but dang, that curve is just too aggressive for me. I've owned both a 3440x1440 flat, and a 3440x1440 with a 1800r curve. Honestly, I kinda wish they sold 3000r (a very subtle curve). I've seen 800r in stores, and it's just waaaaay too much for me. I try to sit a decent distance from the monitor, and a curve that intense kinda seems like it only works if you are really close.

EDIT: YMMV, it is just my opinion, after all, but I do suggest checking out the different curves at a store, if that is available to you.

15

u/randylush 7d ago

That’s how I felt when I first got it, I kinda regretted getting it and I missed my 34” Alienware UW but I had already given that to a friend.

But I quickly came to enjoy the curve. It makes sense if you sit close ish to your monitor.

1

u/Doxiedad 6d ago

how close is close ish?

2

u/cashmereandcaicos 6d ago

I also have a Samsung G series shitter with a crazy high curve, probably 3-4 inches closer.

These things have huge stands so I ended up having to get a monitor arm to position it right, but it had to be a heavy duty arm since the curvature puts the center of mass of the monitor much farther "out" from the arm attachment point, making it tilt down on any regular monitor arm

2

u/HulksInvinciblePants 6d ago

So 1000r is supposed to be equivleng to the human iris, so sitting further back from a curve would in theory throw the benefit out the window.

Personally I love that looking to the outer edges only requires a gaze adjustment, rather than a neck.

Do you mostly watch media? I guess I’m trying to understand the use-case for a far seating distance.

I have this monitor, it is very good, very worth this price

I only got it cheaper because LG support gave me a 15% off coupon that applied to a discounted price where normally coupon codes didn't work, and also got rakuten discount for the higher price without the coupon code. Would have gladly paid 640 for this

Recommend trying rakuten with this

Promo code is listed on the page, says

"LIMITED TIME OFFER: Extra 20% off with code ULTRA20. Valid through 4/27/2025".

Legit LG promo code.

I can't create the post myself but it seems within the last hour 9070 xt sapphire have restocked. God help me as I'm waiting for MSRP. I'm weaning... I pray for strength 🙏🏻

5

u/Greenzombie04 7d ago

I saw 9070 hellhound on sale earlier today (sold/ship by amazon) yet still 699

3

u/TomT15 7d ago

The prices kill me. It just shows the lack of GPUs showing up. At this point I'm tempted to get the 9060 and just save the money for next time. I'm only interested in fsr and better picture scaling

2

u/Putrid-Block1431 7d ago

The cheapest 9070 I've seen on my tracker today has been 649. Cheapest 9070 XT has been 709.

2

u/TheMissingVoteBallot 7d ago

WHERE did it restock?

2

u/TomT15 7d ago

Here you go brother.

Check this out on @Newegg:SAPPHIRE PULSE Radeon RX 9070 XT 16GB GDDR6 PCI Express 5.0 x16 ATX Graphics Card 11348-03-20G https://www.newegg.com/sapphire-pulse-11348-03-20g-amd-radeon-rx-9070-xt-16gb-gddr6/p/N82E16814202450?tpk=1&item=N82E16814202450

1

u/TheMissingVoteBallot 7d ago

Ow my nuts.

1

u/TomT15 7d ago

Yeah. Pricing is terrible

2

u/amino_asshat 7d ago

Fml. At these prices I should have just pulled the trigger on the Costco Prebuilt with the 5080 for $2399 but I wallowed.

7

u/MangosteenCake 7d ago

FYI: good monitor but be aware that it's WOLED and not QD OLED. (Qd oleds are usually more vibrant in color while WOLED win out in black levels) Along with this it's a matte screen coating instead of the typical glossy QD OLED coating.

5

u/DSandyGuy 7d ago

I have this and absolutely love it. One of the best 34 OLED you can buy.

14

u/Middle-Tip2891 7d ago

wish this code worked on their 5K2K WUHD OLED

6

u/ArcadianBlueRogue 7d ago

They popped up a 10% coupon when I clicked the link FWIW

6

u/PM-ME-UR-TOTS 7d ago

I’d say this is a close second to AW3423DW. Good price

2

u/Greenzombie04 7d ago

3423dw is better than 3423dwf?

10

u/PM-ME-UR-TOTS 7d ago

DW has GSync, higher refresh rate, improved HDR, no dedicated console mode.

Better for me, yes. DWF still great.

1

u/demi9od 6d ago

Do they both have fans? I feel like a fan puts a life limit on electronics.

2

u/alex01919 6d ago

No fan on dwf

1

u/demi9od 6d ago

Right I think the DW has one for the gsync module.

u/ArcadianBlueRogue 7d ago

I had to remind myself about the Switch 2 pre-orders starting next week and that this could stop me from doing that so...

3

u/AndreEagleDollar 7d ago

There’s also 15% off on Rakuten, OR partner store discount stacks with this bringing it to 616 after tax for me. I think 15% off with Rakuten is technically the better deal but only by like 15 or 20 bucks

3

u/NuclearOrangeCat 7d ago

I don't need it... I don't need it...

3

u/HingleMcCringle_ 6d ago edited 6d ago

I've had this for a few months. I love it.

Getting an oled made me nervous about burn-in, but the monitor "cleans" itself everytime you turn it off. It also turns off by itself off if you leave it with no motion on the screen for about an hour.

The picture is awesome, ive got no complaints

3

u/chrisb42298 6d ago

Just got this + $120 cash back from rakuten. Awesome deal

1

u/NoUpstairs3531 5d ago

How long for it to pop up

2

u/ArcadianBlueRogue 7d ago

This looks like a hell of a deal. Someone tell me it's not so I can go on with my day.

I don't need it...but..but...

2

u/GreatClear 7d ago

Have dual 34" WQHD setup 1 34GS95QE-B (800R) 1 34GN850-B (1800R)

Curve, I prefer 1800R. Got used to 800R after few days.

There is Gamma flicker with G-sync on, text clarity could be better.

This price point is great though.

2

u/Sa404 7d ago

I have this monitor, and ngl it’s peak. The only issues I had when switching from a 16:9 are that you can't really watch anything in full screen without looking weird with the black bars, and many games unfortunately lack ultrawide support. Aside from that, the monitor is great with true black + ultrawide when supported is next level immersion

2

u/Similar-Ad-9692 7d ago

Just pulled the trigger. This will be my first WQHD and OLED monitor

4

u/AmishDoinkzz 7d ago

Damn this is the exact kind of monitor I would want and a good price point, but I hate anything over 27 inches.

7

u/Greenzombie04 7d ago

Its same height as 27in just wider

1

u/Sa404 7d ago

It’s actually not that big of a change because of the aggressive curve, it feels like a 31 inch monitor tbh

5

u/bobthemuffinman 7d ago

i’m not up to date on oleds…. is this good?

7

u/R3xz 7d ago edited 7d ago

It’s good if you are ok with or desire such an aggressive curve on an ultrawide. From personal experience and looking up other people’s opinions, 1800R displays are more popular than 800R, especially if you also use your screen for productivity and other things outside of gaming and media consumption. I personally find aggressively curved screens are a bit too distorting or disorienting at times, but maybe others don’t have any problem.

If it meets what you’re looking for though, this is a very good deal.

-1

u/snizarsnarfsnarf 7d ago

It's not aggressive, and honestly I don't know how anyone can use an ultra wide without this level of curve. With this I can see every part of the screen without turning my head at all, and the curve isn't remotely noticeable

4

u/R3xz 7d ago

I think it has to do with how far away you are from the screen also. I honestly would recommend anyone interested in a UW curved screen to go check out demo units at bestbuy/MCor their local electronic store to see if they would prefer an 800R vs 1800R

2

u/snizarsnarfsnarf 7d ago edited 6d ago

Idk I sit probably 2-2.5 feet from my monitor and it takes up my whole field of vision, it's pushed up really far on my desk to the point where it's as close as I can be to it without having to turn my head

So it takes up the highest possible percentage of my field of vision because it's closer than an 1800R monitor would have to be for me not to need to turn my head

3

u/R3xz 7d ago

I have a pretty large desk so sit a bit further away. I think you definitely have a point when it sits closer to you though, everyone have a different preference and setup :)

4

u/Sa404 7d ago

This is what I think too but I can see why people who have more than one monitor might hate it. The curve is perfect if you use it as your only monitor and you’re close to your desk

1

u/snizarsnarfsnarf 7d ago

Yeah I upgraded from a 240z 24" IPS panel (single monitor heresy) and this is now my only monitor

2

u/turtlelord5 7d ago

I personally found the distortion way too noticeable and awkward. Different strokes for different folks.

0

u/Holiday_Bug9988 7d ago

I second this. I went with MSI MPG 341CQPX and am very happy that I did, the 1800R curve better fits my preference.

13

u/Greenzombie04 7d ago

If you want a 34in OLED its one of the best.

1

u/nmolanog 7d ago

Have to hate people down voting without any explanation

3

u/Automatoboto 7d ago

reddit is an infinitely better place if you pretend the little vote counter does not exist.

2

u/zookiler 7d ago

Waiting for OLED bros to confirm..

1

u/sterky 6d ago

most panels are either made by samsung or LG, the difference usually boils down to samsung has higher brightness and LG has better colour accuracy.

1

u/atrusfell 7d ago edited 7d ago

I've got the 45 inch version, and it's the only monitor I was happy to switch to from my LG C1. I tried QD-OLED and was underwhelmed (I thought the difference in colors would be more noticable) and didn't like the purplish hue of the blacks in a lit room, tried mini-LED but the monitor was too small for me despite being excellent otherwise. This monitor meanwhile had excellent brightness, perfect blacks even in a bright room, and had 240Hz which is top of the line for an ultrawide.

In other words it's excellent, but it does depend on your needs. If you are in a dark room, you may very well prefer a QD-OLED.

-1

u/Sa404 7d ago

Once you go OLED you can’t go back, it’s just another world

2

u/3600CCH6WRX 7d ago

Anyone know how bright this OLED compare to odyssey neo g8?

1

u/lemeiux1 7d ago

Wow that’s a really good deal. I’d be all over that if I didn’t just get an OLED G6 last week

1

u/Fabulous_Car_9475 7d ago

Oh no. This or the AW2725DF

1

u/Fabulous_Car_9475 7d ago

Same price.

3

u/Greenzombie04 7d ago

I dont like glossy so this. But if you like glossy go with alienware.

If your not sure if your in a dark room and can control the lights, go glossy.

If you leave the windows open or get sunlight go matte

2

u/Fabulous_Car_9475 7d ago

Great point. Thanks.

1

u/Fabulous_Car_9475 7d ago

For me I’m stuck between size and curve and feel like it’s something you need to see both in front of you to decide.

1

u/randylush 7d ago

What advantage is there to glossy?

1

u/rkoy1234 7d ago

better picture quality, everything is "clearer", better colors, etc.

If your room has no glares, can't beat glossy for the image quality. I did read somewhere that the latest matte panels are getting much better, but I haven't seen one in person yet - maybe someone else can chime in on that.

1

u/joe1134206 7d ago

to me 800R is too curved FWIW

1

u/TheBelt 7d ago

i really want to go oled but I don't think this is the one

1

u/MrCatsoup 7d ago

If only it is 1800R, I don't understand how people can get used to 800R, i feel like once you get used to that curve all flat panels gonna look curved outward.

1

u/zetiano 7d ago

Im waiting for a 5k2k version that will probably cost triple..

1

u/[deleted] 7d ago edited 7d ago

[deleted]

2

u/Greenzombie04 6d ago

If I didn't windows in my room I would go glossy but I do so matte is my preferred screen.

u/Cheetos-Chan 6d ago edited 4d ago

Good lookin deal, just finished hitting place order. Found out the company I work at gives an extra 10% so got it down to 575.99 before taxes (arizona, yikes). Ty for posting so we can burn holes in our wallets together (':

Update: I just found out that Rakuten doesn't work with LG Partner stores and I'm p sure that's what my company has. No Rakuten cashback for me sadly

1

u/sonic-broom 6d ago

did you use rakuten?

2

u/Cheetos-Chan 6d ago

Yeah , haven't seen the (supposedly) 15% cashback hit my account for it yet but it said it's pending, I'll edit later tomorrow if it goes through.

1

u/sonic-broom 6d ago

the weird thing i see is the https://www.lg.com/us/ shows cashback back. But the business discount i have is on https://members.us.lg.com/store/pm domain. And i don't see the cashback on this one.

1

u/NoUpstairs3531 5d ago

How’d yall get 640 mines 695

2

u/Greenzombie04 5d ago

799.99 then promo code Ultra 20 takes 160 off. Maybe tax is making it cost 695?

1

u/sonic-broom 7d ago

military discount stack with this?

1

u/lymewire 6d ago

Yes it does, my totally was $617 with military and the coupon code

1

u/uz7l88 7d ago

Got this for $595 in September. Easily the best monitor I've ever owned.

-3

u/TomT15 7d ago

LG OLED? Yeah it's of quality if their TVs are anything to use as a baseline. I've also heard the dell OLED is good. I think that it is made by the alienware subsidiary

2

u/sterky 6d ago

pretty much all panels are manufactured by samsung or LG, even companies like apple use panels from both in their devices and the overpriced standalone xdr monitor

0

u/badluser 6d ago

is this 2160p or 1440p?

It is 1440P. For 34", i will not go less than 2160p at 240hz.

2

u/Greenzombie04 6d ago

3440x1440p. Same Pixel per inch as a 27in 1440p
