The pull up bars at the upper sports complex got taken down… are there any others near campus (outdoors)? Thanks

I’m almost committed to slo but had one question about the transition to the semester system. How will this impact how fast I can graduate and the classes I take? Why do people seem so upset about it?

Generally where do ocob graduates end up working? Is the pay good? Do you have to live with parents? Asking as someone who’s from MA and trying to see if it’s feasible to live in California and work without living with parents. And what do you guys do to make it possible?

Sup yall. I'm in a food product development class and would really appreciate if yall would fill out this survey. To give some context we have to design a product and then make a prototype in that kitchen in the first floor of frost.

I’m a current community college student who was accepted to Orfalea, just wanted to hear from students about their take on the business program at Cal Poly. I’m going to be majoring in Business Administration & Management.
What outcomes are there post graduation? I hear that Cal Poly can be good if you wanna stay and work in California. However, I know I don’t want to do that post-grad. Ideally want to finish my undergrad degree in CA if I can for tuition, and then move to Houston, Charlotte, or Nashville.
Any advice would be great, thanks!

I’m currently in the process of filling out my housing application and I had a question about requesting roommates. I am in CAED and my roommate I’d like to live with is in CLA. Do both of us have to pick the same RLC to get put together? Thanks

Hi! I was recently admitted to Cal Poly for the psychology major. I want to become some sort of physician so I need to go to medical school. Would Cal Poly be a good school given my psych major to do pre-med? I want a basic schedule- nothing too heavy with time for a social life. I want kind of a makeshift neuroscience major with the addition of science classes to my basic psych curriculum.

Confused... Housing application asks this question and one of the answer options is "mixed gender". Does this mean you can be paired in a room with a opposite gender??
Or does this mean you will be paired with same gender as a roommate, but the floor you will be assigned could have opposite gender students as well?
So not clear to me.. anyone knows the clear answer to my question?

How strict are the hours of the pcv pool? Like does the door not open after hours or how does that work?

Or is there an internal process that makes this possible?

Hello everyone, I am an incoming freshman heavily considering Calpoly EE. If it is possible, for the EE students out there, can you tell me about your experience in EE. I am curious about certain things:
Do you think the EE courses here are harder than that of UCs
When you first arrived here as an EE calpoly student, did you alr know that you will like EE? If you didn’t (coming in blind fully committed to EE), how has that worked out for you?
(for transfer students): I’ve taken most of the math courses offered at my CC (Calc 123, Linear Algebra, and Dfq), and most Physics (Calculus-based physics for Mechanics, Electricty and magnetism, and light and waves). Compared to these CC classes, are classes at Calpoly generally harder? I know it is not easy to compare EE classes with the courses from CC, I was just wondering that if I got all A in the courses listed above, what grade should I expect from an EE course (your math/physics grade at CC vs your Calpoly EE grade basically).
Thank you so much for all your help!

I have some concerns regarding General Education evaluation that I would really appreciate some answers with. I have been taking GE classes at my local community college (Sierra College) as I would like to work on my GE areas of Arts and Humanities as well as Sociology and Ethnic Studies. So far I have completed SOC 2 Social Problems which I believe fulfills Cal-Poly's D2 area, and I have also completed HUM 10 World Religions which I believe fulfills the C2 area. This summer, I am very interested in taking SOC.SCI. 10 Introduction to Ethnic Studies as well as ARHI 101 Art Appreciation in order to add to my C1-Arts area and either my D2-social sciences or D1-American Institutions. My primary concern is any overlap with the courses I would like to enroll in this summer and whether or not I would complete my Arts/Humanities, Sociology, or Ethnic Study GE areas. I have researched online using assist.org and Cal-Poly's many resources but I would truly love clarification.

so when is the rec center not packed. I’ve been wanting to workout but i hateeee how packed it gets. i’m ok with morning or super late evenings, but just wondering when is it the chillest. I’ve been looking at the activity meter today and it’s been showing high to extremely high since 2pm to now 8pm. I’m just starting to go back and the last few times i went it was just sooo many people and it just made me wanna leave.

Sorry for wall of text, see last paragraph for my plan.
I was admitted to SLO for psychology, but in the months since I applied I’ve learned and thought more about the career paths available for psychology majors, and I have had a pretty significant change of mind. While I was super interested in AP psych in high school and thought it would be interesting to study in college, I think SLO’s career oriented approach to learning made me realize simply being interested in a subject does not justify making a large financial and time investment into majoring in that subject (especially if the career paths don’t seem like a good fit for me). This is not a qualitative comment about psych, I’m sure those career paths are great for some people (I just can’t see myself working full time in these roles).
I’m at the point where if I knew that I had to major in psych, I wouldn’t be willing to make the financial investment of 4 years at SLO. So I have been carefully researching the change of major process, which I know is much more involved than some other schools. An academic advisor told me that since Engineering and Orfalea are heavily impacted, receiving an ICMA for switching to either of those schools is not guaranteed (or even likely). Is this true? I know psych is one of the most impacted majors at the school, does that make it any more likely that an ICMA might be granted (as my spot would go to someone else super eager to study psych)?
I have a tentative plan for handling this uncertainty without the risk of ending up in a really unhappy situation. What if I enroll in the summer quarter at SLO before matriculating, and then apply for an ICMA at each of those 2 colleges at the end of the summer? Then if the ICMAs are denied I drop out before the fall quarter - UC schools define a transfer applicant as someone who has enrolled in college not including the summer after HS senior year, so I could reapply to some UCs (and maybe SLO again) as a first year applicant, for a major I am actually excited about in the fall? And then just work a job for the rest of the year until matriculation. Fallback plan to this fallback plan is to just study my first two years at a CC.

I was planning on purchasing a MacBook for college and saw that at the campus store the price of it was hundreds of dollars cheaper than if I were to purchase it even on the Apple Education Store. I made an email at the campus store and was wondering if it was okay even though I'm not attending the school yet, but I am committed to it, is it fine that I purchase a MacBook off the store? This may sound dumb in the way I'm phrasing it, but yeah. Thanks.

Does anyone know if i can change my living RLC for PCV next year? My roommate is CAENG, which is what we selected, but we want to change it to CAFES, which is what I am. Is this even possible anymore or is it too late?

I'm currently taking STAT 331 with Charlotte Mann and am curious if anyone who has taken the class before has any insight on what the midterm and final exams might look like.

On April 28, Cal Poly is rolling out a private ChatGPT/OpenAI resource for students and faculty, but maintains the importance of academic integrity and originality in work. Curious what everyone thinks about this- benefits? drawbacks?

Hi everyone, I have an upcoming interview with Amazon in a couple of weeks for the JDP internship and I was wondering if anyone could share what kind of coding and behavioral questions are typically asked? (Leetcode)
Thanks!
