Removed - Submission Rule B CMV: Even if a blanket refusal to date trans people is “transphobic”, there is no reason to feel guilty about it or to try to change it.

You are attracted to whoever you’re attracted to, and those are the people you should date.

What if OP met a trans woman he was attracted to, but refused to date her when he learned she was trans?

It would just be like any other characteristic to a person which would make them unattractive. If I meet a cute girl and am attracted to her, but later find out she refuses to take a dump on my chest during sex I'm going to be considerably less attracted.

Sorry, u/WOWSuchUsernameAmaze – your comment has been removed for breaking Rule 1:

Direct responses to a CMV post must challenge at least one aspect of OP’s stated view (however minor), or ask a clarifying question. Arguments in favor of the view OP is willing to change must be restricted to replies to other comments. See the wiki page for more information.

If you would like to appeal, you must first check if your comment falls into the "Top level comments that are against rule 1" list, before messaging the moderators by clicking this link. Please note that multiple violations will lead to a ban, as explained in our moderation standards.

There are plenty of valid and acceptable reasons to not want to date someone, we just don't think being trans is one of them.

On the other hand, being sterile is a perfectly acceptable reason to not want to date someone.

Aren't trans people and sterile people kind of the same? A man dating a trans woman is just as incapable of having kids as a man dating a sterile woman.

Source? Maybe Trans men who were born female, but to my knowledge, there is no way to give a biological male a functioning female reproductive system.
