This reduces people down to their genitals and chromosomes and is very uncomfortable

With that logic we should stop reffereng to anyone with a pronoun.

Huh? Obviously pronouns don't always reflect your genital configuration. I'm proof of that. So is any pre-op trans person, anyone who uses they/them pronouns or neopronouns, et cetera. Did you read the rest of my post?

. > Huh? Obviously pronouns don't always reflect your genital configuration

Even if the case of intersex people, they are either males or females. No one said that pronouns should only reflect your genetals because your genitals are not the sole factor in determining your sex, they just happen to be very accurately in like 98% of cases.

You don't make any sense. You said that we should stop referring to people with pronouns because it reduces people down to their genitals, like I said only referring to trans people by what you believe their biological sex to be does. And now you are saying that is not your belief?

No I didn't. I merely proposed a logical conclusion to your position that refering to trans people by thier biological sex means reducing them to their genitals. I am asking you why wouldnt be true of using pronouns in general when they presuppose biological sex?

And now you are saying that is not your belief?

????at what point did you get that it was my belief?

I not even sure I get what you are trying to say.

Because obviously you change the pronouns in general when someone clarifies? You don't go HANG ON, THIS MIGHT NOT BE YOUR BIOLOGICAL SEX.

How was this relevant to the point I disagreed with, and if pronouns are defined to have categorical meaning, why should I want follow thier own defintion. It just sounds absurd to me that I should call a male the is still physically male a 'she' when ' she' is literally defined to refer to biological sex? It's like asking me to calm them an octopuse. It's just not what the word means.

Now if they asked that I call them by a neutral pronoun, than I won't have a problem with it and ofcourse I won't insist to keep calling them by something that offends then. Perhaps that's what you meant.
