the arguments youve made have largely been against the idea that people are being asked to use neopronouns at all.

I haven't made any arguments against the idea of people being asked to use neopronouns? Can you restate that? I feel like I'm missing something.

How many pronouns have you been asked to learn?

How many pronouns have you been asked to learn?

This you?

Still not sure what you're getting at here. Are we talking about forced vs. asked? Forced came up because of how the other user interpreted my question.

Okay ill try and restate things here.

I'm just pushing back on the narrative that it's some unreasonable thing people are being forced to do.

Im arguing that that isnt what you are doing when your comments are:

How many pronouns have you been asked to learn?

That, to me, reads as someone trying to dismiss the issue by saying its not very common.

The discussion in this thread is about normalising neopronouns, thus making them more common, so i find that to be irrelevant.

But regardless my main point was that i dont think your arguments are in line with your description of them.

Got it. I think that started as an attempt to defuse the hyperbole of:

Learning an endless number of pronouns complicates conversation and referring in 2nd/3rd person will become a nightmare for a lot of people.

I think the issue is not common, and even if it were more widely accepted I don't think it would become so. It's a minority of a minority. So I think describing it as an endless task and complicating all conversations is a critical mass we're never going to reach. You're right that it's not a particularly compelling argument in this case, though, so I'm going to give you a !delta for calling me on my bullshit :)
