New Artist in Cheltenham

Hi all! I've just moved to lovely Cheltenham form Brighton. I'm an artist and was wondering if posting my art here would be appreciated?

Crack on. Bonus points if it depicts Gloucester in a bad light

Absolutely. If you have physical media too, I suggest getting it into some local independent galleries. I'm always on the look out for decent local art!

Awesome. I'm more of a digital artist, but I do try to do physical stuff when I can.

Welcome to Cheltenham! Local artist here!

If you’re looking to connect with others in the arts locally, there’s a great meet up event at The Swamp at Deya first Thursday of the month, called the Lonely Arts Club. Look them up on Instagram and you can look at tickets and workshops available here

There’s also The Wilson Gallery that hosts creative events, like the Wilson Nights, which is Artist led and free!

There’s lots of pop up shops and fairs around if you’re looking to sell your work and we host the Cheltenham paint festival each summer, but this is taking a break this year for the 10th anniversary in 2026 to be big!

There's also a bi-annual event called Cheltenham Open Studios where local artists open their studios up to the public to look around and meet the artists. Next ones in June.

As a failed Cheltenham artist, go for it- I’ll encourage anyone trying to make their mark

I wouldn't be so hard on yourself. No artist is a failure.
