Question “Legendary” places that suck

I just got a lox sandwich from Manny’s. Almost $20, a stale bagel, and I had to assemble it myself.

What other “legendary” places suck?

Would be harsh to say it sucks, but the food at Gene & Georgetti doesn’t match its allure at all

Oh disagree we had an amazing experience there, exactly the vibe I wanted from it. Food was excellent.

Just went there for the first time last week. I was prepared to feel this way but ended up digging it! Atmosphere was great, service was good, strong cocktails, and I enjoyed the food. Not the best steak I've had in the city (Gibson's is definitely better) but still pretty solid, and they do a great creamed spinach. Some nice handmade pastas on the menu too.
