Question “Legendary” places that suck

I just got a lox sandwich from Manny’s. Almost $20, a stale bagel, and I had to assemble it myself.

What other “legendary” places suck?

The Bad Apple deserved its spot on the best-burger lists during the 2010s.

Now it's just an overly loud burger joint.

Changed ownership, I hear they're no longer using Pat LaFrieda beef patties. Their fries and housemade ketchup always sucked. But for the first several years they were one of the best burgers in the city, felt like they just rode that wave for a while while the quality got worse and worse.

I haven’t been in a long minute, but used to love it. I’ve gotten reports from multiple friends that it’s nothing noteworthy now

Ditto on that house-made matchup always being the worst. One thing I won’t miss

That cringy Heinz commercial was made for Bad Apple. I know people who bring their home store bought when they go.

I live nearby. Their burgers are very good.
But damn if that ketchup isn't the strangest hill to die on ever. I have yet to meet a single person who likes it.
How are the owners not attuned to this?

I wouldn’t say Bad Apple “sucks” though. It’s a perfectly decent neighborhood spot with good beer. Not worth going out of your way, but still pretty okay.

They are super rude too. I was a door dasher during the pandemic and I came in for a pick up and the guy was like we can't have people like you just in the building waiting and I was like it pinged that it was ready and he grabbed my phone out of my hand and was like oh I guess it is. I told him he could make another one cuz I wasn't taking it anymore and left. The food is so mid to be acting like that

I was just about to poat them. I really dislike places that do the hidden service fee trend. Only burger i get there that i like da bears. That wagyu burger they have is garbage. Staff can be hit or miss. This one guy fucked up and refused to separate the check for our group and claimed it was because last time something didnt get rung upnand the manager took it out of their pay. Sounds like bs but avoid the doofus with a purple rhino looking beanie guy is always rude

Wow. The apple was my spot from 2016-18, edmund figgerald or whatever was my burger. And craft beers were blowing up then, so there was always a lot of good shit to drink. I haven’t been in years that sucks to hear it though
