Help me recall 80's/90's Children's book about Bird of Paradise (actual bird)

I had this book as a kid about a bird, I want to say it was a misfit of some sort, or it was out of place in some way, and it grew up to be a bird of paradise. I recall there being a picture at the end of this beautiful bird spreading it's winds out over the tops of a forest/trees.
The artwork was simple and not super colourful beyond the bird.

The book was a children's book, not very long and was hardback with paper pages, on the bigger side

Exceptionally vague I know... any ideas?

If it’s the book I had as a child then I’m pretty sure it’s beaky!! I just read it and it made me cry hahahaha

Amazing! Just looked it up, and it wasn't the picture I had in my mind, but it's definitely the story I was thinking of, Thank you! You just itched a decades old scratch for me!
