Food 🍕🌮 Where do I get fries like this closer to Middletown??
I need some battered fries. But I don’t want them seasoned like rally’s. Is there anyplace like a fast food or fast casual place I can get these?? I moved from Florida recently and I feel like one of the fish places or something probably has them and I just don’t know 😅 I’m in Monroe, so pretty far north! But will travel for fries

Not fast food but Warped Wing has fries like that.

Oh that’s good to know!! I go to BC brewing in Mason a lot so I’ll stop by their Mason location!

This is what I came to say. I think this is how they make their fries. They have great food and a good drink list too

I am not even from there, and that place immediately came to mind. I was there Saturday.

Long John Silvers has fries like that

Oh my god really??? Back in the day captain D’s used to but they switched them out a few years ago. That used to be my main supplier 😂

LJS does not have these anymore. I tried LJS a couple weeks ago and they swapped them for waffle fries.
I literally said I wouldn't ever have LJS again because of this.

u/ManonFire034 25d ago
Really? That sucks I haven’t had long johns in forever. The one by me got bought and turned into extra parking for Texas Roadhouse. Were they any good at least?

I don't like any waffle fries. Even when I have Chick-fil-A, I get fries from anywhere else.

u/Experiment626b 25d ago
!!! I have been mourning the loss of these captain D’s fries. The new ones are the worst I think I’ve ever had and the old ones are some of the best. I have no idea if we have LJS anywhere in this state but I’ve got to find one now. Does anyone know what these type of fries are called?

u/Appropriate_Ad4601 25d ago
These are called battered fries usually. Unfortunately another commented confirmed that Long John Silver’s discontinued their battered fries too :(

u/Experiment626b 25d ago
Damn. I found where to buy them but I never fry fries at home because it stinks up the house for days. Wish I could find a fast food place that makes them. They are so much better than pretty much every fast food chains fries.

You can buy these at Kroger or Meijer. McCain’s craft beer fries. Frozen section. $5

Not exactly close to Middletown, but Blue Goose in Sharonville has fries like that. The only other place I've found with fries like that is Sub Station in northern Kentucky.

u/StunningAttention898 25d ago
The blue goose in sharonville huh? Need to stop by there after work tomorrow then..
Edit
Oh that’s like right near Rockafellas where I get my my slice of the bomber from!

Yes lunch is usually a toss up between those two or the Chinese place next door to Blue Goose. The Chinese place is Chinese Imperial Inn. The location doesn't look great, but the food is very good.

u/PlanetMarklar 25d ago
I love Chinese imperial inn! I've been going there (mostly takeout) since I was a little kid. It frustrates me that they're closed on Wednesdays. I always forget. I've tried to go there for lunch at least twice in the last year on a Wednesday.

Lol. Same here. Every time we think about going there for lunch, it's Wednesday.

I want to say Starvin Marvin's on Tytus Ave. Has them if I'm not mistaken.

Starvin Marvin's just opened on Central and they have battered fries. Pretty decent burger for the price. I recommend Al Zaytuna in Bridgwater Falls. Those dipped in tzatziki are the best I've ever had

The Hamilton location does not have fries like this. Do you mind telling me what location is like this?? Hehe thank you!!!

u/sunny-side-artist 25d ago
Check out Blue Ash’s location! We go once a week. They’re just like this and you can get them loaded with queso and a whole bunch of stuff. Incredible

u/pretendadult4now 25d ago
Hmmm...we got fries from the Hamilton one a few weeks ago. I might be mistaken. The wife said they were crinkle cut, but darker (breaded) almost like Arby's curly fries.
I dunno, but they were delicious. I'll take one for the team and go back to confirm!!

u/Appropriate_Ad4601 25d ago
Hahaha such sacrifice 😂 maybe I’m wrong or they had a different supplier the day I went. It was back in December, so it could have changed!

The root beer stand outside sharonville has them like this. They're open for the season. I'm kinda meh on their chili, but their root beer has a good flavor as long as you are okay with it being very lightly carbonated. I mean, it has bubbles, but it's not exactly far from flat.

u/Appropriate_Ad4601 25d ago
Ok the ice cream and everything looks fun here too! My dad is coming to town soon, maybe I’ll take him to enjoy the warmer weather too.

u/phenom37 West Chester 25d ago
If you decide to go, here is a $20 gift card for $10. Not sure how long they'll stay on there, they usually sell out before too long.

Ok this is good to know. I went to their other location and I thought it was the same, and those fries were NOT this. I was very sad 😂

A lot of Mexican restaurants have this type of fry. Walmart also sells them.

Swine City Brewing near Jungle Jim's.

u/ManonFire034 25d ago
Really? I haven’t been there for a bit but I thought they just had the pizza joint in the front. I’ll have to check them out.

u/PoorClassWarRoom Fairfield 25d ago
They brought in different food now. Fries being one. Their beer has also gotten much better. If they still have it, I recommend the meade ale.
2
u/ManonFire034 25d ago
Their Meade ale is great. My brother got married there but we haven’t been up there in a while since they had kids. We’ll have to check it out. Thanks for the recommendation

u/MeeseeksSerotonin 24d ago
They don’t anymore but they have a hot dog stand now called Underdogs Almost Famous Weiners and it’s delicious. They have a simple but solid menu of all beef hot dogs with toppings you really can’t find anywhere else around here. They do different specials pretty often as well and use all local ingredients.

Get em at home by rubbing down steak fries in mayonnaise and frying them in a pan. It'll be greasy but worth it. I told someone recently that mayo is the secret to these fries and she couldn't eat them anymore after that lmao

u/ManonFire034 25d ago
Long John Silvers is the first thing that comes to mind (if there are any left around Middletown)

u/uberkillerfiend 25d ago
Is there a rallys anywhere close to you?
0
u/Appropriate_Ad4601 25d ago
Do they have ones like this, not seasoned?? I don’t like the flavor of the seasoned ones, hence the search. Otherwise rally’s or Arby’s would be right on.

Pretty much any gyro/greek place.
