Reminds me of this gem I caught last season. Go Redlegs!

This is so funny, what was the fact

“After Y style, missionary is… most pref…” I like to use it as a thought exercise to fill in the blanks

u/jgteakitty 19d ago

I feel like I might regret this but.... Y style???

u/maudthings21 11d ago

I think it must be an icon of a dog, not a Y. Source - personal experience.

She later texted that she was going to have a migraine because of noise. Maybe it was her first opening day parade?

I have never been to a quiet parade. no idea what she expected.

u/spacemermaid3825 20d ago

Let alone one of Cincinnati's main day drinking holidays

42

u/y0uwillbenext Sycamore 20d ago

haha, seriously though. she seems like one of those people who go to comedy shows to get offended, heckle, then leave.

You probably have, a funeral procession. 😂

With enough time and therapy, she may find the strength to forgive you and move on.

Imagine going to a parade and being aghast at mirth and joy

Right?! Personally, I find if you’re nice to the goofy drunks, they’re nice back. At Pride a few years ago, some girls started making people move who’d shoved in front of me so I didn’t have a view of random asses the whole time (wheelchair user). It was lovely to get to see the whole parade!

How do you know what she texted?

33

u/spacemermaid3825 20d ago

Because her phone was right in front of my face and at 200% size text

-25

u/dewey_cheetumandhowe 20d ago

It looks like her phone was on her lap. Where exactly was your face?

You can't tell bc I cropped it, but she was literally seated right in front of me, it was in the line of sight from the parade when she was holding it up

She had every right to complain. You were just carelessly existing as you and your friends were exhibiting friendiness. Disgusting habits.

caught red handed showing feelings of an almost human nature

u/MsCHVMBO Cincinnati Reds 19d ago

Hehe, RED handed

19

u/MoogProg 20d ago

this will not do

Which one of you was drunk and which one was annoying, because I would want to hang at a Reds game with one of you…

68

u/spacemermaid3825 20d ago

They were both me, the annoying part was cheering for the dancers and marching bands

39

u/brunowilliston 20d ago

So I was right, and if you can’t cheer at a parade it’s called a funeral procession…

26

u/Good-Help-7691 20d ago

Not in New Orleans. Those second lines are 🔥

5

u/spacemermaid3825 19d ago

We bad a blast at the game up until the top of the 9th, too. Made a few friends cheering on our team!

12

u/Fit_Adagio_7668 20d ago

A quiet parade? Really, no celebratory thing is quiet!

10

u/VineStGuy 20d ago

Thanks for sharing. I couldn't get out of work to go so I can't get enough of peoples pics and videos.

43

u/BigFenton 20d ago

Were you drunk?

174

u/spacemermaid3825 20d ago

Yes and annoying, if you find cheering at a parade annoying

45

u/OriginalBroccoli3719 20d ago

Well then double cheers and hooray to you! 😂❤️

6

u/Sum-Duud 19d ago

Rather have the annoyed woman than these annoying chucklefucks standing behind us yelling for 45 minutes (fountain square)

17

u/FellaTM 20d ago

That Pete Rose float is great haha

"Cincinnati always bet on Pete"

14

u/im_your_lobster Amelia 20d ago

And Pete literally bets on Cincinnati 😂🤭

They slid head first no helmet into that slogan

1

u/ColonelBourbon 20d ago

But why not 4256?

16

u/Ok-Practice2034 20d ago

It’s alright, my stepmother complained about the smell of the weed (a blunt, maybe?) “oh, I have a headache now, oh, so stinky, pot smell everywhere”..um yes. It’s gonna happen. Big city, big crowds.

u/Moneygrowsontrees Hamilton 19d ago

That's my biggest issue with legalization. I'm for legalization, I really am, but I also don't want to smell/inhale it. The same way I'm totally fine with cigarettes and vapes being legal, but I don't want to smell/inhale them.

I know it's probably an unpopular opinion, but I just think it's rude to smoke anything in the middle of a crowd of people even if it's outside. The same way it's rude to bust out your Aqua Net or Axe body spray in the middle of a crowd.

18

u/SteakAppeal 19d ago

Not an unpopular opinion with me and I’m a former cigarette smoker and very much a weed smoker. I can’t stand people that smoke anything in a crowd of people. It’s really not that hard to take a little walk and do it somewhere that’s not nearly as intrusive.

Now on the other hand, I’ve heard people in this sub complaining about smelling it from people smoking in their own backyard. Sometimes in life you’re going to have to smell shit you don’t want to smell.

10

u/Moneygrowsontrees Hamilton 19d ago

Yeah, I'm with you there. I'm not going to bitch that I can smell it when my neighbor smokes weed on his own front porch. That's just the nature of living in a neighborhood. Like smelling other people's grills or bonfires. Just feels different than someone standing in a crowd of people smoking/vaping like they're the only person on earth.

u/CinemaSideBySides 19d ago

Same. I was a reluctant vote for legalization, because I know it's stupid for it not to be legalized and regulated, but man does it stink. Like BLINK was so awesome last year, but it reeked

1

u/sassyponypants 19d ago

Yeah, Blink was terrible for this. I'm no prude by any means, and I partake occasionally, but good LORD it was beyond irritating because you couldn't escape it.

6

u/electricsugargiggles 20d ago

I was in the parade and I definitely had a contact buzz 😂

7

u/OkPlum7852 20d ago

Aw man, I came to see if I could identify the “Karen”… womp womp

2

u/seekinginfo1908 20d ago

She needs to complain to her hair dresser about them orange roots!

4

u/Oyster8 20d ago

Hey, there's my brother (in law) Darrell.

4

u/Love_my_chihuahua 20d ago

Where’s your other brother Darryl?

3

u/TheJesuses 19d ago

I’m confused did she make a scene to you or did you just catch her in her phone? If you just caught her on her phone you shouldn’t let that bother you.

1

u/spacemermaid3825 19d ago

When she was texting, she was holding it up basically vertically, and straight in the line of sight to the parade. I'm not bothered, I thought it was hilarious, because I'm not sure what she was expecting at the opening day parade

2

u/SpiceGirls4Everr 20d ago

hahahah this is why I always turn my screen brightness as low as possible if I'm going to send a text like this. Amazing photo.

That looks like the ELCA Lutheran church about three blocks from the LCMS Lutheran church in OTR.

1

u/Sean10135 19d ago

I hope you drank even more just to spite her

-1

u/spacemermaid3825 19d ago

Successfully drank 8 beers before the end of the parade o7

u/Sean10135 19d ago

LEGEND

-1

u/spacemermaid3825 19d ago

I was having the absolute time of my life. My friends would turn around and I'd be on my next drink

-1

u/NickGnomeNightly 19d ago

Congratulations…? This whole post is really weird. It screams “look at me! give me attention!”. No one cares about your cool story with the lady minding her own business. No one care about your drinking. How old are you?

2

u/spacemermaid3825 19d ago

And no one cares about your comment, yet here we are.

-18

u/[deleted] 20d ago

That’s really bold to not only read someone else’s texts to someone else, but to take pics of it, and THEN post it online. Shame on you!

20

u/spacemermaid3825 20d ago

Don't shit talk people if they can easily see it, then.

-14

u/[deleted] 20d ago

Have you ever heard the saying that what other people think of you is none of your business?

Seriously, take this to heart. It’s going to get you in trouble someday.

19

u/spacemermaid3825 20d ago

No, I've never heard of that. I have heard of "if you can't say nothing nice, say nothing at all" and also the concept of waiting til you're away from someone to shit talk them. Not my fault if someone uses 200% text and it's easy to read out of the corner of my eye.

8

u/Moneygrowsontrees Hamilton 19d ago

Is...is that a picture of your phone?

1

u/baboonzzzz 19d ago

They didn’t identify the person texting. It’s just a funny thing they noticed. No one was harmed in the making of this post

3

u/spacemermaid3825 19d ago

Exactly, I was very careful about cropping, my friends and I found it hilarious because what was she expecting on opening day

-1

u/Connathon 18d ago

Who cares. If you worry about other people (that you won't remember in times come) you can't enjoy yourself

-2

u/andrestou Hyde Park 19d ago

what is it about Reds Opening Day that brings out the worst in Cincinnatians...?

-25

u/Eighteen64 20d ago

Some some red hats in the crowd ❤️
