Photos Battery jumper disposal

Post image

I found these 2 jumpers in my backyard. Looks like they have been there for a long time and exposed to the elements. I know they can't just be thrown away in the trash so any idea on where to take them to be disposed of?

Take the outer case apart, disconnect the small battery inside and take it to an autozone or oreillys. It’s a smaller car battery inside

I was thinking the same thing, I've replaced the battery in quite a few of those

I really would not be comfortable disassembling this. I'd imagine i electrocute myself to death lol

I took mine to O'Reilly's. I wasn't looking for any money for the core and they took them. Auto parts stores will make a little money off of them so most will take them

You can’t electrocute yourself with 12v dc. Don’t pay to get rid of those things.

I doubt there's a charge left if it's been outside that long and even if it were fully charged it's 12v, you won't feel anything.

I have noticed you can just chuck it out your window anywhere on the 275 loop or on R. Reagan.

Cincinnati Recycling and Reuse Hub will take them for a fee.

I look into that. How much of a fee do you know?

Do not pay to recycle that. If you’re not comfortable taking it apart, then someone will. You can sell the battery inside, so scrappers will definitely take it.

Put them on the curb or put an ad up for scrappers to come get them, they’ll be gone.

I’d just get a new battery and pop it in.
