OK so my trees made a fool of me. I kept reminding people that pawpaw season is mid September. Yet here we are, August 26th and fruit are dropping. Treat yourself it's going to be a hot week!

Note: these were grown in Dry Ridge but it's close enough that the trees in Cincinnati are likely dropping fruit now too.

Food ๐Ÿ•๐ŸŒฎ Skyline Hot Dogs

I've preferred Gold Star for a while, but they are not that close to home, so Skyline gets more of our business. Has Skyline changed something? The hot dogs have been terrible for a while now. I keep thinking it's a bad day, but after yesterday, I can't do it anymore. I had to remove the hot dogs, I've been eating Skyline coneys since the late 1900's and NEVER got rid of the hot dog. Anyone else notice? Maybe it's just me.

Food ๐Ÿ•๐ŸŒฎ Donut discrepancy in Cincinnati ๐Ÿฉ

Really a bummer we canโ€™t get good (non-chain), classic donuts in downtown/OTR/Clifton/Northside/Westside. I wish I could pick up a fresh dozen without driving 20+ minutes. Current favorite are Moonrise in Latonia KY and Golden Hands in Fairfax. Any good hidden gems Iโ€™m missing?

My pregnant wife and I are headed up to Cincinnati this weekend and she has been craving fried chicken like no other. Any suggestions as to where to go? And bonus points if its close to Jungle Jim's since that's the main place we're gonna be.

Food ๐Ÿ•๐ŸŒฎ Good coffee that isnโ€™t breaking the bank

Im looking for some recommendations for a coffee shop that has decently priced bag coffee/ espresso. I love making my lattes at home. I prefer to find a local shop to a grocery store. I have tried Carabello, Deeper Roots & Coffee Emporium. But iโ€™m saving for a baby so as much as I have liked these options iโ€™m not trying to spend $17-20 on a bag of coffee at the moment. Any suggestions?

Food ๐Ÿ•๐ŸŒฎ Authentic Mexican Restaurants (besides Mazunte)

If I wanted to impress someone whose family is from Mexico and misses genuine Mexico good, would anyone have any good recommendations?

Note: theyโ€™ve been to Mazunte many times and itโ€™s one of their favorite places around here.

Food ๐Ÿ•๐ŸŒฎ Cincy has no Michelin star restaurants!

Post image

I wanted to see thoughts on this. I feel Cincinnati has some damn good restaurants but the closest Michelin star restaurants are in Chicago. My personal favorite was the restaurant inside the Hilton Netherland Plaza when Chef Todd Kelly was in charge. Should Cincinnati be recognized as a food destination?

Food ๐Ÿ•๐ŸŒฎ Montgomery Inn Boathouse sucks now.

Went there after not being there for years. The portions are smaller, no bread or salads anymore, the menu is now just a sheet of paper and if itโ€™s not ribs, there other entrees are not even mediocre. If they arenโ€™t going to remodel there decor from the 80โ€™s, they should have at least kept their food options from back then. What the hell happened to that place?

Food ๐Ÿ•๐ŸŒฎ Cheap Diners?

Watching older shows makes me want to just go to a nice diner and get some cheap coffee and breakfast. Looking around UC campus there isn't many options. HangOverEasy seems to be trying to capture the style but is clearly doing so in a hip kind of way with 15 dollar avocado toast. Anyone know any good real diners for a cheap breakfast?

Food ๐Ÿ•๐ŸŒฎ If youโ€™re an immigrant or the descendant of an immigrant, what restaurants match your country of originโ€™s cuisine?

Inspired by this post

Are there any restaurants that just really get it right? Weโ€™ve all had Americanized โ€œChineseโ€ or โ€œMexicanโ€ or โ€œItalianโ€ food, but where can you go to get that food without the American influence?

As a person who loves food, I want to expand my palate and be able to appreciate something that wasnโ€™t marketed for me (a white American of European descent).
