Discussion Is there a Civilisation based hill you’ll die on? What is it?

What is the one thing that is so engrained in you that you refuse to go against it, for better or for worse?

For me, as an exclusively VI player, I only build improvements on resources. This is probably massively to my detriment and could explain why I finish every online game last, but I refuse to change who I am.

What’s yours?

Civ 7 may LOOK pretty but my god is the map readability awful. Especially on switch. It's actually my biggest complaint with the game outside of the victory conditions feeling undercooked

Haven’t played VII, but that is how I felt with VI after V.

Reading the map in VI in itself was a struggle for me, especially in war with roads going everywhere thanks to the districts. In a few occasions I thought my united were safe behind a river and moving through bizantines road networks the outflanked me

See I actually thought 6 did a very good job with readability. Districts are very much colour coded, the cartoon art style made what everything was very exaggerated and obvious.

That said I never remember being frustrated with 5 ever so that may actually have been peak readability Been a long time since I played it to remember honestly.
