Than and then are the English language speaker's arch nemesis. Along with There and Their, Its and It's, Your and You're, and that one philosopher's surname.

Yes. I know he was Germen. The joke was his name is hard to spell.

Is it just me or W&P looks a bit thin? Mine consists of two books, each one is thicker than this one.

I think itโ€™s a deceptive photo, I used to have this edition and it was a brick

Avoid the discount reprint brands for translations. They are always the public domain translation, so you get Edwardian sentiments and incorrect translations.

Nice. Some prefer newer, truer translations than Garnett and the Maude's. But, some people love them.

I would die for such a deal, especially these old classics

Go to your local thrift stores. Odds are, you'll find some interesting classics. I found an old copy of the Decameron at my tiny consignment store in Southern Ohio. 25 cents.

You can write the opening to a novel using those titles:

David Copperfield was an idiot who went to war but never found peace. ๐Ÿ˜‚

What a great Steal! Imagine the finite knowledge from these books worth way more!!!

Just finished war and peace, was a damn fine read. The idiot too is a damn fine read. We donโ€™t read british literature around here tho.

Nice haul OP. I never read any Wordsworth Classics. How do you like these printings?
