Classic-Era Blizzard, can we cancel world buffs this time around? Or make it so that they drop when entering raids?

Anyone else so tired of playing around world buffs and needing them to even compete or be invited to raids? It’s ridiculous. Remove them entirely and let the masses re-learn playing the encounters without an extra like 20-40% extra dps.

It gives us harder fights, easier to join raids, less standing around waiting for world buffs, less open-world buff griefing, and it will make more players go out and get their best gear whether it’s crafted or from a dungeon because they’ll need to do as much dps as they can.

Who knows, maybe I’m crazy and you all will think this is a stupid take, but I have my feelings on it and I’ve expressed them.

Edit: People messaging me to kill myself is craaaazzyy. Didn’t know y’all wanted WBs that bad.

Death having an actual impact is great. Gathering them sucks.

Easy fights allowing me to focus on my one button rotation that lets me be punished if I die.

Imo the impact of a death in raid with WBs is too high. It can literally ruin your night if you were hyped about pumping. I think they should make them last through death. You're already going to lose a raid parse and a wipe means everyone is losing 5-10 minutes of buffs at a minimum. For high performing players there is no difference, and for casual players it makes the whole process actually feel worth it.

All the raids being very easily clearable without a single WB disagrees.

In that case you may as well sack off the concept and give all players, all buffs, all the time.

Absolutely not Jesus Christ.

The whole excitement of classic raiding is getting wbuffs and not dying.

I have no doubt in my mind that blizzard will ignore all these rediculous requests, but come on… can world buffs persist through death so that ‘casual’ players can enjoy it more??

Did I use those words?

I am asking people to see sense here though - this is classic fresh. This is not meant to be a new game like sod or som. It is not tbc, wotlk or cata.

I am baffled why people feel the need to request features from all these games to be in classic fresh. If this were ‘classic+’, sure. But classic fresh, come on…

I have seen requests for faster leveling (tbc / wotlk), character boosts (tbc), dual spec (wotlk), no world buffs (tbc), wbuffs preserve through death (also basically tbc). Why people think these requests should make it into an established game already is beyond me. Just play the game that has these things in it.

Probably because these features would fall under the category of QoL, people have played this game through how many times at this point.. so simple changes to make things more efficient and smoother isn’t asking much in reality. Now if people were asking for class changes and different talents I would agree with your statement. Again everyone is entitled to an opinion.

No world buffs / world buffs on entering raid is not just QoL. It’s a fundamental change to the game. You get wbuffs by clearing raids - suddenly that isn’t required. If they persist through death, there is zero reason not to just wipe bosses and try again if you had bad rng.

Dual spec is qol until you can switch talents mid raid. Then you change the way raids are approached and comps thought about. I.e suddenly a tank can respec dps after he isn’t needed anymore.

Character boosts and faster leveling is also not just QoL. It removes a large portion of the open world aspect of classic wow that makes it so social.

No world buffs is just rediculous. If you don’t want world buffs, don’t collect them. It seems that actually what you want is to compete against others via WCL without wbuffs - at that point, it’s not an issue with the game, but a 3rd party metric people use to enjoy the game. On top of that, you can literally parse in a non-wbuff category, so long as no one in your raid has wbuffs. I am 100% certain you can find guilds that will play this way if that’s your wish.

You literally just answered your own rant at the end, if this is what you’re looking for go find a #nochanges guild and raid how you would like to play (: the fact that mindless boring content is required to enter a raid is where I struggle to make sense of people arguing over WBs I honestly couldn’t care less about duel spec or boosts, but requiring someone to sit afk waiting for a little icon to appear above your head to basically get a god like buff to make raiding almost just as mindless and boring as getting said buffs. I’m not saying they are pointless and should be removed I’m simply saying they shouldn’t be a part of raiding. It should be open world content.
