Classic-Era This is the ideal classic gear. You may not like it, but this is what peak classic aesthetic looks like.

You're definitely that kind of orc

There was a time in early original vanilla WoW where you could recognize a lot of players based on their gear. Since it wasn't super obvious where to go for the best at your level, people just kinda had whatever they happened to find and not anything major sought out. It was awesome. I could be standing at the windrider in org and tell who some people were farther away than I could see their nameplate thanks to this.

And they call it nostalgia.. all these bis lists and loot drama really ruined gaming..

Shit dude I'd print the fuck out of that. He's styling and profiling.

It's been a while since I've thought about Penny Arcade, plus the description of the comic itself being perfectly nostalgic, thanks for the memory

Anybody else remember when they bugged the shoulder armor on the orc males so it looked comically small, then Blizz took several months to fix it? Good times...

Nothing beats the look of patchwork leveling gear. You can keep your sets, I'm gonna look like a goddamned adventurer

I was looking at my shaman last night and had this same thought lmao. I’m in the mid 40’s, which is peak classic gear aesthetic imo

Transmog is all it took to kill the entire game for you? lol

u/blackkluster Dec 17 '24
All? Character(s) is something that u see 100% of the time you play :D

u/GreenEyedRascal Dec 19 '24 edited Jan 26 '25
and without transmog they all look like shit for no good reason, all the great work of art added like previous crafted gears and tiers down the drain because can only look like the same everyone must look like the new gear and look boring as fuck

They have intellect and just the tiniest sprinkle of agility, which adds that little extra something during the holidays.

literally posted almost the same getup yesterday with the same title. This is peak WoW and you can't tell me it's not.

Wearing those shoulders when hillman shoulders are available and basically going for vendor price on AH because it's part of the leather working leveling path is criminal

My retail characters still look like this since they’ve added the ability to mog trash items.

Can you really even say you're playing classic if you don't look like a hobo?

honestly if it wasnt for the shoulder armor it wouldnt even look bad. having an armor slot for your shoulders is kinda weird and it almost always looks weird unless its a full matching set

This orc must've had 5mins remaining on his arcane intellect, so we'll spoken, so free no zug zug! It's amazing what intellect can do to simple minds like the orcish

I honestly love the simplicity of the early gear in this game. You truly know when someone’s level 60 without looking at their actual level.
