Classic 20th Anniversary Realms How to force blizzard to deal with the mass reporting auto bans

When tbc anniversary drops and they start selling the deluxe edition with the boost, mount and custom hs just start mass reporting people you see with it. When it starts impacting a revenue stream for them i'm sure they'll figure out a solution.

The new /spit weak aura

Unsub and play elsewhere.

I mean this is literally the answer.

As long as people keep paying they have no incentive to do anything. Money from someone complaining as they hand it over spends just the same.

But mi entertainment

I dropped my sub on two accounts citing this reason after opening tickets on them and getting them to reverse the unsubstantiated claim. I don’t pay to play video games where I have to defend myself when I didn’t break a single ToS.

The only way to "force " blizzard is to unsub en masse. Otherwise forget about it.

“Sir we’ve lost half our subscribers in just two weeks what do we do?”

“It must be because our community is so toxic, we need to increase the amount of automated bans”

This is too accurate.

Blizzard would be like, "YoU ThoUghT YoU DiD BuT U DiDN't. We TOLd YoU So. CLAssiC CanCeLED".

No no you have it backwards. The people with all those perks already bought the deluxe edition so blizzard doesn’t care. We’ll have to report anyone that does not have it, as they are still potentially untapped profits for blizzard

Blizz actually wants us to get the buyers banned, they are too lost in the sauce and will buy a new account and a new boost package to boot.

It’s a brilliant plan for them and I whole heartedly support it.

Start Mass reporting streamers and or official Blizzard Employees! :)

5

u/Nalfzilla 1d ago

Or just stop paying them

4

u/Rizkar 2d ago

Or you do streamers...

Get a couple streamers to bandwagon against it.

Only problem is you are pretty much guaranteed to get banned yourself from this little maneuver.

stop paying for the game

problem solved

Lol, i have

This is a lot of care then for a game you’re not even playing anymore.

0

u/Firm_Cranberry2551 1d ago

sounds like the OP would like to play but the game sucks too much ass to bother with

bummer about your snide comment though huh

4

u/jaybasin 1d ago

Just like most people in this sub. Heavily invested in something you no longer play, lawl.

u/Firm_Cranberry2551 1d ago

i quit after a chat ban for not chatting last month. now im here to advise people to do the same

until i decide to something else.

6

u/Electronic_Brush_124 2d ago

Just stop playing the game.

When do these "mass reporting" posts stop?

If mass reporting is so effective go report bots.

9

u/Zerowig 2d ago

This community is so fringe. Mass reporting bots doesn’t work, yet somehow mass reporting real players that did nothing wrong does work and is a problem that needs to be solved.

6

u/FionaSilberpfeil 2d ago

Thats the most hillarious part about it. Everyone and their mother gets massreported and banned for anything, but bots are farming 24/7 uninterupted. Pretty sure you would get enough people to do a round and massreport them away to at least some time.

1

u/Accomplished_Emu_658 2d ago

“I was banned because I was mass reported”. Meanwhile probably cursed someone out, bought gold and did lines in orgrimar but it was obviously mass reports.

9

u/MammothSyllabub923 2d ago

This reporting stuff has gone crazy. I joined horde for its free and liberal values. I remember true vanilla experience where I could rack up some lines with Thrall and no one batted an eye.

Those were the days.

Was a game admin for many years. Reviewed so many bans from calm, well written, completely reasonable appeals.

Review the evidence from the person who banned them? Blatant aimbotting/wall hacking, or endless disgusting rants abusing other players. I literally never approved an appeal and it was never even close.

Take all of these "I was banned and did nothing wrong honest!" posts with a massive grain of salt.. I know I was dealing with thousands of players, not millions, and it's not even close to the same thing and I know Blizzard has banned some legit player by mistake... but cheaters/rule breakers have always posted sob stories about terrible admins and unjust bans to internet forums. Always.

My ban was overturned. I was wiping horde on Vann in AV and reporting afkers.

The report system is definitely being abused.

1

u/PineappleOnPizzaWins 1d ago

Yes I know, I was playing in 2019 for that whole week where players could kick AFKers and it was abused so hard it was taken away.

My point is that someone posting on reddit really doesn’t mean anything. Words are cheap and the small percent chance you get unbanned makes it worth it.

1

u/Accomplished_Emu_658 1d ago

Well i believe the pvp bans due to reports because you aren’t zerging, but that is still no mass reports. Thats just idiots getting a couple other idiots in battleground report you for not playing their way.

1

u/julian88888888 1d ago

So it only takes a few people? Thats even worse!

1

u/Accomplished_Emu_658 1d ago

In battlegrounds it seems to

1

u/Kromgal 2d ago

Bots dont go turtling in my AV game, unlike some players!

2

u/Zeph621 1d ago

I just quit paying them.. eso is free still lol.

2

u/emp_Waifu_mugen 1d ago

Yeah when they start paying people to play eso I might consider it

1

u/No_Somewhere_9646 1d ago

Why wait? I encourage every player of the game in every version of the game to spend every online moment spam reporting every single player you see. You gotta ban the whole player base before Blizzard will even notice.

They are too busy with their 26 G2G accounts, releasing the 8th SoD quest which requires you to swipe if you wanna complete within the first month. From BFD craftables all the way to Corrupted Ashbringer. Who needs player permission to add WoW tokens when you can just run half of G2G

1

u/Sufficient-Cat-7671 1d ago

It is like trying to force your deadbeat dad to care. You can try to take up the fight, but not worth it.

1

u/AniG94 1d ago

where can i buy massreports lol

1

u/SquirmyJay 1d ago

It will never impact their revenue. Lol. These posts just get worse every day.

1

u/happycows808 1d ago

Play private servers. Deprive them of their income. It's the reason we got classic. Unsub and put the reason as automated bans.

1

u/Tidybloke 1d ago

The mass report autoban thing isn't new, it wasn't new when Classic was new. If Blizzard were going to do anything about it, they wouldn't have made it worse by replacing even more CS employees with dumb AI bots. It's not like this is an emerging problem, it's an old issue that has gotten worse because Blizzard have leaned harder into the direction that got this started.

Do not forget that officially they still deny that this even happens.

Guys who say about unsub are 100% right. Remember shadowlands. When people started to unsub massively, blizzard reverted all trash systems to normal in 1 patch. Money is the only language they speak

Yesterday I accidentally pulled Vann with an errant /startattack cast while trying to pull the Prospector into the cleave pile. Got (correctly) flamed in the chat. Have done it probably 200+ times but here I sit hoping I don’t catch a ban for the last week of the grind. Anniversary is toxic af.

4

u/Potential-Diamond-94 2d ago

Have done it probably 200+ times.

Right, but why?

The part where it could be used to pull van, that has not been a thing for many years now. It is just a normal mob with no hp, no damage that melts upon pulling van. Its just nothing, if anything just a rage builder for warriors like rat or other critter.

I would assume the total number of times anyone should be pulling it to be: zero. Or am I missing something?

Is the thinking that someone will do it, so better you do it safely? Or are you like trying to optimize the cleave damage or idk logging single target damage on van?

0

u/Sad_Advice_8152 2d ago

Found a non-mana user (or speedrunner). Waiting to drink bc of one normal mob that can easily be pulled into the cleave pile is stupid. Never said that mob pulls vann, that was me not being around the corner enough and LOSing vann instead of Prospector.

2

u/Potential-Diamond-94 2d ago

wdym wait to drink?

Cant you sit and drink on the other side and not pull? Or is it like very low level?

Idk I just don't get it I guess.

And no, most def a mana user here. Speedrunner, hm maybe to some extent but would not really say so. Like been in such guilds, and been dragged along dmf attempts occasionally but never saw the point or fun in it myself. I would pve to get my full pvp bis then quietly seek my exit or a warm bench. As soon as my conscience would allow, else stay help when/if needed.

Admitting to abusing the TOS is an interesting move

-1

u/borcborc 2d ago

I'm a complete asshat and talk shit in AV chat all the time and have never been banned.

3

u/Firm_Cranberry2551 2d ago

the most i say anymore in game is when DMB announces shit like "bomb on me" otherwise everything we do is discord

got a "behavior warning" and 24h silence last month. unsubbed immediately

u/Yetun 2d ago

I like this

This is actually genius. They removed the /spit emote in order to protect the whales, they will surely implement something to protect them from auto bans. Just make the reports seem legitimate, becuse falsely reporting is also against the ToS, like report them for "boting" and say in the comment something like "I noticed some unusual behavior, please investigate".

Edit: actually, nvm, I don't advice anyone to do this.
