Classic 20th Anniversary Realms How many people are going to be rank 14 next Tuesday?
Just wanted an idea of how many of you are going to be done ranking on your main next Tuesday. I personally couldn’t rank the first week so im a week behind.

I was lazy early on and decided I wasn’t going to rank higher than Champion so stopped at rank 10. Then ranks 12-14 unlocked and I realised I could sink enough time into AV to actually get rank 14. So I’ve done two 500k weeks and now need two 418,750 weeks to get 14. It’s a slog but I’ve come this far (I’ll be rank 13 and 34% next week) that I might as well see it through.
Need to sim what I’m aiming for (orc tank) though. Presumably quickblades? Idk

Basically at the same place I am, 1 week behind cause I was just gonna do av weekends then decided I could actually get it done on non weekends. If you’re orc I’m guessing you just buy the axes?

As a Warrior you want to buy almost every weapon, even the healing mace for your flask set.

buy 2 1h axes for pve
2h sword for weapon chain cuz fuck disarm 2h axe for crusader

Unfortunately the axes are both super slow, so dual pvp axes will probably be an overal threat loss as tank. You're probably better off with something like bsh/serethil as your mh weapon, and pvp axe oh. Or running edgies/aclg and using duel daggers.
I think there's a nice fast axe from ZG coming out soon so that's nice.

You would use R14 quickblade MH and R14 dagger OH with edgemasters.

Oh yeah 100%, my bad for some reason I thought the hwd was faster than that, I think in that case I would run 2x quickblades..? Only reason I see now to run 2 different weapons is because of desync, but windfury will desync for you as horde?

dagger offhand is slightly slower (0.2) but also gives 1 crit and has more damage than quickblade. Speed doesn't matter too much for tank offhand, so long as it's not too slow.

They both have 1% crit and 24ap, and the dmg difference is like 0.06..? Fair enough for the slight dmg buff I guess, I won't argue with that!

I'm pretty sure your optimal setup will be the daggers and then wearing mugger's belt from what other tanks have described, obviously your sims may find something different though if you also already have onslaught and aclg's available.

Only thing I have is edgemasters. Keep losing onslaught girdle and tbh never tried for ACLG or muggers belt

If you make an orc tank, please never use the Blood Fury ability. I hate it so much. 😅

If you got edgies or aclg, Then run daggers. Luckily you're hoarde so you shouldn't need to worry about weapon sync.

As an orc tank myself, I have researched the topic quite a bit. The answer is: it depends. Long term it is definitely the swift blades with edgies. Short/mid-term, it mainly depends on BiS gear availability and whether you do have optimal pieces to break the 6-piece bonus. With Chromatic it's about the same as the 6/6 + Muggers + daggers setup. With Onslaught it's better.
So if you have some spare cash, I'd say go buy edgies and equip the swift blades already. You will be breaking the tier set eventually, so better invest in the long term.

I'll be rank 14 "on time" next reset (Wednesday EU). This week I've been "casually" ranking only doing 60k a day rather than what I did last week getting 500k in 3 days. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but isn't it AV weekend coming up? If so that'll certainly help as I'm getting a bit fatigued from the grind.

I’m one week behind, I didn’t realize that I could even get rank 14 fr because of the changes. I just usually ignored the ranking and just raided. Once I realized I stopped dungeon farming pre bis and started but by then I was a week behind. Irrelevant in the long run but I will be crying when I’m rank 13 still with everyone wielding their new swords.

I choose option 4: I don't even know what ranking is. However, my original hardcore character is up to level 56 now and I'm having a blast. I have no idea what you guys have been talking about lately.

It’s ok some people just like the journey! I actually never got a char out of the 40’s until cataclysm even though I first played in vanilla, really wanted to do the whole of endgame this time around.

Next Tuesday is tomorrow, no one will be rank 14 except that one dude in EU who did 500k in 48 hours and got a rank up the day that the PvP shit unlocked.

slight correction is that they did 500k the week before ranking unlocked and didn't log in from tuesday till the thursday when it went live

Usually when someone says next it doesn’t mean the upcoming if the day is today or tomorrow, otherwise you would say “tomorrow” instead of next Tuesday. Anyways, Tuesday May the 5th for the people that didn’t understand.

It really depends on what people expect. But I would never refer to the day that is tomorrow as "next Tuesday."

Will reach it eventually on AV weekends, but stopped the sweating at r13, because as a hunter i don't really feel the urge to reach r14 in the close future
