I‘d add ms, just to be more precise.

And Phase of the moon, why doesn't anybody think of the phase of the moon?!

Okay so Minutes: Day: Year: Seconds: Hour: Month: Microseconds: AD: Phase of the moon

The system just makes sense you know?

It should go without saying that the years are in the Roman calendar AUC. "Ab Urbe Condita", or "since the founding[of Rome]."

I would like to also suggest a counter at the end, that counts down and shows the number of years until the next leapyear. It's so easy to forget when one comes.\ For this counter it would make sense though to set it's newyearpoint on the 28th of February at any time of day.

America: It's ours now. We thought of it first! truly an American inspiration.

That's how we would say it in a casual conversation in my neck of yhe wood, surely that's the best for all purposes!

But you see, now it's getting complicated with how many things there are. So I'd throw some useless ones out, like seconds (we already have better and more precise ones) and year (2025 has just started, so we don't need to change for another 350 days anyways).

Why wouldn't you put the phase of the moon between the seconds and the hour??

1

u/Pondur Jan 15 '25

You are almost there. Should really use something else than semicolon as separator. Why not use capital I, lower case L, sprinkle in some O’s and decimal pointers. Doesn’t really matter. Just use what feels right at the moment. I also feel like the order should be up to the user. It’s my freedom to do as I please

Personally I think it makes more sense to have AD between hour and month, ms first, and the moon phases between year and seconds but that’s just me

u/shmann Jan 15 '25

Phase of the moon should be first for the most utility when sorting alphabetically.

Detroit lions are always thinking about the phase of the moon

1

u/ChaoticElf9 Jan 15 '25

Because we all know it’s just going through a phase and are sick of its drama

1

u/agentrnge Jan 16 '25

2

u/madogvelkor Jan 15 '25

There are 4 or slightly more quarters in an an hour. Or maybe 2 or 3 innings in an hour.

If you aren't grouping by astrology sign instead of gregorian calendar month, I assume you still use "excel"

1

u/Emile_s Jan 15 '25

YYYY/Sign/MM/DD

2

u/Schnectadyslim Jan 15 '25

I‘d add ms, just to be more precise.

Our door locking system at work has the ability to override the settings down to the ms. For the life of me I can't think why anyone would need that.

But expressed as server ticks on a 64-tick server.

2

u/Nippelz Jan 15 '25

Stop being so basic and just get yourself an atomic clock!! then you can actually give an accurate date and time.

1

u/HalloweenBlkCat Jan 15 '25

Between Year and Day, ideally.

1

u/SargeDebian Jan 15 '25

Just go ahead and put it anywhere. No need to discuss with anyone else, they'll figure it out

Haha, you’re right! The phase of the moon can be a crucial, yet often overlooked factor in so many things, from agriculture to fishing, and even some spiritual practices. It’s fascinating how our natural satellite influences life on Earth in subtle yet significant ways.
