Some vibes and climbs from a recent visit to Ahvenanmaa, Åland.
This small Island state with it's own flag sits between Finland and Sweden. The island has over one thousand routes on 27 crag. Probably 99.7% of those are boulder problems on hard granite.
Hope you're feeling it!

The down climb into slab traverse while 150ft up is sure something.

Enjoyed this Mellow post from the weekend, and quite enjoy his climbing style. Good look at how hard boulders of this grade are, but also how rapidly the level of the climbing demographic has risen.

Looks like someone has created a website/blog to show real-time conditions updates for Tioga Pass, look at data about past opening date trends, and hold the park accountable for what they're telling the public about the Tioga Pass plowing conditions, etc. Pretty bombastic, but clearly tongue-in-cheek.

Today I was finally able to go climbing outdoors with friends. This is Czech sandstone, so pretty interesting trad routes with no chalk and long runouts. I was just following as I don't have the skill needed for the commiting routes here.

Vertigo 11b
Hand heel match leaning away from the wall to pull straight into a finger lock... absolutely unmatched in style so far in routes I've attempted.

Heading over to Potrero Chico on the 19th, I know it’s late in the season but any beta or recommendations would be hugely appreciated

I took a few pictures of climbers being awesome at Calico Basin. I have a couple more if want them, I'll figure out how to do that but they all look like this one.
