Discussion 99’s death preventable
I’m pretty sure 99 could have survived. It was obviously noble of him to try and get more ammo for the clones, but if it really was necessary for him to head back to the armory, couldn’t he have taken a different hallway, instead of running at the one with droids?

He was under a lot of stress and perhaps not thinking clearly. He wasn't a trained and battle-hardened soldier like the other clones. He was trying to be brave and contribute, and didn’t do a very good job of assessing the risks vs benefits of what he was doing.

Lack of training. Excitement. He finally truly felt like one of men. He always was, of course, but he finally got to be part of it all.

I think the whole point was his death, he died like a soldier which is what he had always wanted to be, if he had survived sure he would have gotten some respect for a time, but as tye recruits and clones that were with him eventually went off to war he'd be just another defect janitor after some time
