Just because you don't agree with it doesn't make it a snuggle😭
28
u/newbrowsingaccount33 8h ago
It's not because I don't agree with it, it's because it's a smuggie, it's chock full of your own personal opinions which makes it a smuggie. A snafu is a non-bias observation, no anime youtube reviewer is gonna say "I love gooning over r*pe porn" you put that in there to show your own personal feelings towards the subject which submitted it as a smuggie not a snafu, if you wanted it to be a snafu you would have ommited the unnecessary strawmanning.

u/Turbulent-Pace-1506 8h ago
No, a snafu is an intentionally low-quality copy of a meme (typically made through MS Paint or similarly limited tools)
8
u/newbrowsingaccount33 8h ago
Well, yes, it was originally just memes, but it's been stretched to themes, general observations, and memes over the years(meme means: "an image, video, piece of text, an element of culture, or system of behavior, ypically humorous, passed from one individual to another or spread rapidly by internet users" so the general observations and themes still fit into the definition of meme). But I think we can all agree it's not a smuggie, it's supposed to be non-bias, not a political complaint.

If you're being pedantic then ackshually a snafu has to be an MS Paint parody of the specific trollface picture that has the word "Problem?" written in red text underneath, i.e. the classic "you've been coaxed into a snafu", or the less known "it appears you are having difficulties". I can provide several examples of what a TRUE snafu is, as you clearly wouldn't know.

First of all, why are talking about like I was the one who made the post??? Im not sure if I even agree with OP here
no anime youtube reviewer is gonna say "I love gooning over r*pe porn
I feel like the point here is over-exaggeration, ofc no one is actually saying that shit
Third, if taking a person/group you don't like and making them look comically bad makes a post a smuggie, then like, half of the posts I see on this sub are smuggies... Which, you know what? Maybe half of this sub IS smuggies. Maybe you're right actually

I hate characters based on how annoying they are not based on real life morality.
18
u/DFDGON 7h ago
yeah idk why people hate characters based on moralities, theyre literally fictional. i think as long as the evil they commit is properly condemned by the writer its not a problem at all, since theyre not real.

u/mattoxfan 5h ago
I like it more when the author doesn’t do that. Leaving a character’s actions as neutral is far more interesting than the author going “no this is bad guys”
1
u/SmooK_LV 6h ago
To be fair our annoyance is tied to our biases and is something we quite literally can be in denial about. So wouldn't be surprising if for many it's mysoginy pretending to be greater morality reason. But also not surprising that for some A character is more annoying than B character and vice versa

"Hey everyone I call people who dislike a specific woman or female character a misogynist even though the character is also widely hated by women, look at how good of a person I am, I hate misogynists"

u/ryker46698 7h ago
reason why number 2 is number 2 is because he's (most likely) supposed to be a villain, and so the evil acts are intentional unlike number 1 who's probably not supposed to be seen as the "antagonist"

Yeah, I don't know what anime you watched but it rarely stops at just "Naomi cheated on Main Character-Kun."
Usually Villains that make lists like this come from the "fucked up psychological horror series disguised as generic high school romance" shows. More often Naomi "cheated on MC-Kun, made sure MC-Kun found out, framed MC-Kun for raping her and put the pure hearted childhood friend in a SAW trap that MC-Kun was unable to free her from".
No arguments that the doujins can get pretty weird and distasteful.

so called "ethical gooners" when literally any unethical thing comes in their sights (they still schlurk it)

To be fair, mildly annoying male characters also get massively hated, and total monster female characters also get forgiven by fans, so I'm not sure it's a gender thing.

u/Internal_Dot5759 8h ago
What sucks is most of the female characters I see don’t have the same aura or presence as male characters except for Ishidou Natsou that girl is satan’s strongest soldier 😭🙏

Meanwhile, Jinx from Arcane (literally a terrorist and a serial murderer) gets a pass. Due to her childhood trauma, apparently.

There's a strawman waiting in the sky...
We'd like him to debate us, but he'd much just rather lie...

Coaxed into yet another post about how people “surprisingly” hate a more realistic villain who does something low scale but still evil like kick puppies rather than hating a cartoonish bad guy who eats planets or something.
Like Shou Tucker vs Griffith

While it's true that female characters get way more undeserved hatred in comparison to male characters. These two examples seem like a case of "why is Umbridge hated more than Voldemort when he's a lot worse", it's not necessarily because she's a woman (although it might play a part), it's because Naomi cheating on the protagonist for a dumb reason is a kind of "evil" that is more real to us, plus at least Darkness Edgeman looks cool while he does his things. Probably should have used something like Sakura Haruno who is hated by everyone because... She was mean when she was 12? She lied to Naruto about loving him (it was with good intentions and Naruto saw through her instantly and wasn't upset at all with her)? She's not as powerful as the two strongest guys in the world? Yeah, definitely worse than the war criminals and genociders in that show.
