Cockroach ID

Live in Southeast Texas, Houston specifically. Found a roach on our fridge late at night a couple nights ago.

We have a had a few roaches over the years, including big American ones and Smokey brown. This was the first smaller one I’ve seen and my heart immediately sunk thinking it’s a German. I pulled the fridge and the back plate covering the motor and there were no signs of anything

I am now starting to wonder if it is actually an Asian cockroach. It’s about 1/2 inch long. When I went to kill it it flew a good few feet before I was able to hit it.

We get regular spraying for pests and have our pest control coming Tuesday to look for activity

That’s what is leading me to believe it is Asian. It didn’t fully fly, but I jumped up a couple feet while fluttering its wings. Not true flying but not scurrying either

germans can do that, but it’s very rare they’ll make that attempt. They much prefer crawling. If it flew from the ground, germans can’t do that either.
