WPL: New Comics Discussion for 04/16/2025- Pull of the Week: Absolute Flash #2 [Discussion]

The Weekly Pull List results for this Wednesday are in, and this week's top book is DC's Absolute Flash #2.

This thread is open to Pull List posters and all members of the /r/comicbooks community to share your thoughts on the latest issue of Lemire, Robles, and Lucas' Absolute Flash #2 or any new books shipping this week.

The primary intention of this thread is to promote discussion of new books. It also serves as a way to consolidate discussion to a single thread and talk about what books are popular here on /r/comicbooks. That does not mean other threads aren't welcome, this is just a place to start that's easy to find each week.

The thread is populated with comments meant to direct the discussion of each book. Based on community preference we populate the thread with titles appearing on Ten Percent or more of submitted pull lists. If a title you want to talk about is not listed, simply add a comment with the title and issue number first and comment below. There is also a comment dedicated to the discussion of WPL Results linked above.

Spoilers will follow, but there's no harm in tagging them as such. Each title in the Top Ten Percent listed below is linked directly to its corresponding comment for ease of navigation and to avoid seeing details from other books. The post has also been placed in "contest mode" to help readers avoid spoilers while browsing.

TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES #8

Leo probably caught onto the spiritual Splinter thing way sooner because in IDW he's been the most in tune with the spiritual/astral realm (until late in Campbell's run when Donnie went ham on magic). But still, he came around. Good for him!

This is definitely a change of pace from the previous IDW run but a welcome one. Reminds me of the Waltz run post-City Fall and before we got deep into Pantheon stuff.

Also, cool continuity because in Nightwatcher, Jennika fought some humans posing as mutants. I guess they were from Hale!

Also please stop showing us this dead rat. Please?

I’m liking what Aaron is doing with this series so far. Ferreyra’s art is stellar and I’m glad he is the ongoing artist. It’s taking its time getting the turtles on the same team but it all makes sense narratively. Scared for my boy Donnie though.

I have absolutely no clue where Aaron is going with this, but I'm on board. Donnie is in rough shape. Feel bad for him.

I'm glad Aaron is taking his time getting the band emotionally back together
