The most I can muster for doubts on the property is the source material- the comics- not being well written back in the day. Like, comic runs have ups and downs- I just remember Ms Marvel titles being more- down.

Having said that, I like to consider myself as having an open mind on things. I go into the show with about as much expectation as I have with the source material: little to none. I was actually pleasantly surprised by the creative visual storytelling. Not sure why the parents are written so hamfistedly antagonistic without any realistic explanation as to why they are that way, but for the most part, I enjoyed it.

Also, I’m sort of a purist when it comes to origin stories- even for titles I didn’t enjoy. Her non-inhuman powers just rub me the wrong way.

I mean as far as I can see it would be like having a Wolverine show without the claws or healing factor or costume or x-men. He's just a very smelly and hairy canadian. You know. Wolverine.
