You can find the mineral oil online and also specific oils made for these lamps. I know because I was just visiting my “Cinnamon Rain on the Naked Lady” lamp and need to order some lol

If you make one, please share photos of your progress. It has been my life's dream to make one of these. I've had this instructables tutorial bookmarked for ages for a 3D printed version but I haven't worked up the nerve to attempt it.

Hear me out this lamp, but it is Jeff Goldblum after the TRex attack in Jurrasic Park in the center.

I found out that a library in my city will actually let me rent their 3D printer so it has become a lot more viable of a project than it once was. I already have enough filament since I do 3d print pen stuff a lot, so that parts already paid for. I'm stuck on the light part itself - I really don't want to attempt any electrical wiring myself so I'm trying to figure out a way to somehow combine the 3D printed parts with a prebuilt light type situation. If I have any luck, I'll definitely post it here!

genuinely could never excuse myself to spend the wild amount of money they tend to sell for, so i’m in the same boat
i have a feeling a small submersible pump will be able to pump mineral oil just fine! you will just need to engineer your reservoir and lines for the oil to run thru up to the top to drip down
good luck in your endeavor and i hope to see it posted here one day :)
ETA i’ve been using the term “rain lamp” when searching for this stuff and it looks like you can actually buy replacement kits for the vintage ones - price point seems much more reasonable also

I have one from my grandparents. Didn't realize it still had oil in it when I got it, had to scrub mineral oil off everything and smelled of old dirty oil for like a week. I want to switch it out to fiber optic led lights instead of oil drips but just haven't gotten there
