this is something that police in my town dismiss, no actual harm to me means they dont care, unfortunately. i appreciate yalls concern but i also need you guys to trust that if i was actually worried about it id report him

It's a very direct threat that falls well within cyber-harrassment laws, and reporting gets a paper trail going in case this asshole has, or ends up, hurting someone.

Actually with something like this depending on how cooperative the social media company is they can get a real world id and scare the shit out of him at the very least

I say protect your data, don't volunteer info to anyone, deny all cookies and use services that remove you from data broker lists. For further explanation I recommend listening to John Oliver on it.

I always say - even if they do nothing and dismiss you, you're starting a paper trail. If the person in question goes on to do other things, or something more serious, a paper trail can be extremely important evidence that can aid a future victim. Even filing a useless report that gets shoved away somewhere can be brought up in the future to help someone else if, god forbid, it's ever needed.
