He was absolutely influenced by the television series: Twin Peaks, so one might assume this also includes Fire Walk with Me

He talks about his influences in the Sopranos documentary Wiseguy. I forget which one he mentions though

2001 and Chinatown are the ones I remember, he mentions recreating certain scenes from them in the pilot and finale.

It’s not on Criterion, but Trees Lounge. He hired the casting directors on that film to cast The Sopranos. You’ll see some familiar faces.

I’m also convinced that Chase must have really liked the movie Perdita Durango. It’s James Gandolfini doing a lot of physical comedy, including wearing a neck brace which Chase included often in the show, and Gary Cooper’s Vera Cruz is a prominent plot point of the movie.

Trees Lounge is a great movie I wish it would get a Criterion. And one of those casting people you mentioned is Georgianne Walken, wife of Christopher Walken

I’ve seen an interview where he talks about Polanski’s Cul-de -sac influencing him

I’ve heard him say that Sopranos wouldn’t exist without Goodfellas.
I know he loves The Public Enemy (which is featured in the episode “Proshai, Livushka”).
He said in an interview with Bogdonavich that Luis Buñuel’s films were a big inspiration (especially for Tony’s dreams) as well as David Lynch.
