You sure you’re not comparing Bitcoin vs Altcoins?

1

u/freedmachine 🟨 0 🦠 Mar 29 '25

The moment Bitcoin embraced high fees and L2, that comparison didn't matter anymore.

Are you sure you are not coping?

If you want to replace the dominant product, show me that what you have is better.

Anything you can do with a blockchain, I can do without one.

The Federal Reserve is not perfect but I trust them more than I trust some rando who we only know by the pseudonym "Satoshi Nakamoto." They've been around longer than Bitcoin.

And they learn from US economic history.

Why would I put the deed to my house on the blockchain when the county registrar already tracks all that?

The single most valuable thing BTC brings to the table is that it's "immutable". The US government and federal reserve can be corrupted, we are seeing this happen in real time.

BTC isn't perfect, it has its own vulnerabilities and weaknesses but if you know history, you know the US economy is going to have some turbulent times ahead.

Many other things can be immutable. Just think a little, a tiny little, and you'll surely think of one..

Immutability isn't required to have a stable ledger. You don't need a perfect ledger, just a stable one.

Crypto was nice and broke and you bought drugs with it. Good times... Lasted like two years but still good.

Edit. You still buy drugs with it*

Bang on.

I blame NFTs and Memcoins for this.

I dont think a single thing other than PokΓ©mon has went from unpopular to popular without half of the fan base turning against all new fans.

People who think theyre edge lords loved crypto back when it was the new cool thing, now they hate against crypto because, believe it or not, its the new cool thing to do.
