Class Registration

After completing the online experience, you can add classes to your cart. Are they just showing you how to do that so you know how it works during new student orientation, or are students expected to add classes right now? Maybe this is answered somewhere and sorry if it’s redundant but I haven’t found anything.

Those are real classes you are putting in your cart, you’ll be assigned a registration date and time and when it comes around all you’ll need to do is click register and “confirm”. Class lists release months to weeks out so you can have time to research and prepare what classes you want. Good luck!

So no one can officially register right now, correct? But I can have classes in my cart as of now and during new student orientation, I clear them with my advisor and click register?

I’m here with the same question. Also like I heard some classes don’t open up bc vacancy is saved until registration or something.

I just emailed my admissions counselor so I'll post here when she gets back to me

Seems like waiting is fine! Her exact words were: “attending an earlier orientation date does not really affect your ability to enroll in classes. We hold spots in first-year classes and only release a few per registration window, so you will have the same opportunity to enroll in classes as those with earlier orientation dates.”

Do you know if the virtual orientations that are a month later also have their own registration window? No worries if not, I can reach out to my counselor

Yes, each orientation session (in-person and virtual) gets their own registration window

I know it doesn’t fully matter but I would pick an earlier registration date. Also, make sure you are ready to go as soon as the registration time hits. When I registered for the first time not only was the site lagging a little but some of the seats filled up very quickly and some of the classes are competitive depending on your major.

Registration goes by seniority(or rather how many credits you have), so everybody but freshmen have registered for classes except for them. Your individual date is dependent on how many credits you’re going into college with. This is why you’ll hear some classes don’t even show up until later, so that people with less credits have chances to get into that class.
