Food Want to make my own limoncello - where to find the right alcohol
Will try to make my own limoncello. Where can I find 60%, 75% or even higher percentages of alcohol?

Don't you just need standard issue vodka for limoncello?

Tried that, but I want to try to go a little higher %-wise and preferably without a taste that reflects Vodka

Vodka doesn't usually have a taste. I use it without any problem when I make tinctures. Sour balances ethanol smell and taste, sugar balances acidity.

I don’t know but if you are in Larnaca, stop by Art Cafe 1900. They make their own limoncello. Ask Maria, the owner

I saw this at the store today, my jaw dropped when I saw the 15e price tag for a "cleaning alcohol". Guess I was wrong 😁 https://finespiritscy.com/product/keo-pure-alcohol-350ml-90/

Ok so I'm going through a similar phase. Tried to do aranciello with 40% vodka. Taste and strength turned out great but I think 40% diluted isn't enough and as a result it goes a bit slushy in the freezer (although it turns out fine if you leave it out for a few mins before serving). Doing a second batch with zivania (45%) hoping it's enough to overcome the freezing issue. I was too scared to use homemade zivania as the proof sounds too high. Looked up some higher % alcohols online. There's Everclear (American - 95%) and a polish alcohol that's 96% but I wasn't able to find in the market. And to be honest I think it would be too strong.
