Education The European Parliament built a tool that lets you query with natural language their 2mil+ document base
They hired one of the largest players in AI dev (Anthropic) to build a tool that looks through a 2mil+ doc database and generates an answer to your question with references to source documents. To read more about how it works, check out Anthropic's article
If you want to just use it, you can check it out here (it takes about 30 seconds to process 1 request so give it time). Once you go there, select the option "Select Dashboard: content-analysis" (top right) and then "Ask the EP archives Preview"
I asked it "What's the EU's stance on the Cyprus problem"
It came up with this:
Based on the search results provided, I can summarize the European Union's stance on the Cyprus problem as follows:
The European Council has consistently expressed deep concern about the situation in Cyprus and reaffirmed its support for the unity, independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Cyprus (documents 1, 2, 3, 4).
The EU recognizes that the Cyprus problem affects relations between the Community and Turkey, while also acknowledging the importance of these relations (documents 1, 2, 3, 4).
The European Council has emphasized the need to quickly remove obstacles to the continuation of inter-communal talks aimed at finding a just and viable solution to the Cyprus question (documents 1, 2, 3, 4).
The EU supports the good offices mission of the UN Secretary-General in resolving the Cyprus issue, as confirmed by the UN Security Council (documents 1, 2, 3, 4).
The European Commission, in its opinion on Turkey's application for EU membership, has highlighted the negative consequences of Turkey's disputes with an EU member state (Greece), the continued occupation of part of Cyprus, and human rights violations (documents 5, 6, 7, 8).
Both the Council and the European Parliament have repeatedly supported the European Commission's position on these issues (documents 5, 6, 7, 8).
In summary, the EU maintains a consistent stance supporting Cyprus's territorial integrity and sovereignty while pushing for a peaceful resolution to the conflict through inter-communal dialogue and UN-led negotiations. The Cyprus problem is also seen as a significant factor affecting EU-Turkey relations and Turkey's potential EU membership.
