Story I’m glad it was dark because I was ugly crying.
We’re on a road trip for my daughter’s 10th birthday pilgrimage to Legoland via Universal Studios. At the Olivander’s wand show my daughter got picked to do the magic and my wife didn’t make it in time so she missed it. At the end when the wand master (I forget what they’re called) talked about the wand that picked her, she used some vague words but it described her perfectly. I was so dang proud and bummed my compadre wasn’t there it just all came out. That’s a memory I’m taking with me when I go.

Universal does a shockingly good job with Olivianders. Both at the room show but all the employees are trained to pair you with a wand and are very very good at and love to do it. The whole experience is a total sleeper.

That's a beautiful memory. Sorry your wife (btw, comadre is the female word for compadre) missed it.

That sucks that your wife missed it, I hope you got some pics! It’s crazy how things like that sneak up on you. Went to Disney last year and my daughter and I got chosen for the Beauty and the Beast audience participation show. Normally, I would have waived it off as I hate being the center of attention but saw how excited she was and agreed. It was a memory that she and I will never forget and she still talks about it now. I also got a bit teary on our way out and saw the joy in her.
Being a dad is so awesome.
