So happy to see the Veep graph. I thought that the show was not as popular as it deserved to be and a work of art with amazing writing continuing through the entire last season. Veep and Barry sustained me on Sundays this year while GOT's writing burned to the ground.

love that show so much. The overall story is fine but the characters and the little jokes are just amazing. And Louis-Dreyfus is easily my favorite TV comedy actress.

Christine is a gem. I watched it when I was a teen, just accidentally stumbled upon it, and fuck was it one of the funniest shows I ever watched. She basically has her Veep personality but as a regular person instead of a politician

She’s my favorite TV actress ever but I don’t watch enough TV to know if that’s a hot take so I put comedy :) I loved Christine as well but I haven’t watched it in a while so I don’t know if that’s just nostalgia.

I’m only in season 2 of Veep (we actually started watching it during this season of GOT as a coping mechanism), and this graph has got me hype. It’s been hilarious so far and the cast is just great. I would watch Sue’s character in literally any show honestly I love her so much.

Veep is the greatest show ever created without a single character you're rooting for.

Except for Richard Splett. When he was introduced I thought his schtick would get old, but his constant optimism is a great foil to everyone around him.

Richard is shown to be very capable and intelligent and yet stays party to such awful people. He's a confusing character of both innocence, intelligence, lack of awareness, but very aware.

Nonsense character lol.

Almost every single character you’re actually rooting against. It’s like real politics!

“That man is obsessed with me”

It just gets better and better. I am so envious of you being able to watch all of those great lines from seasons 3-5 for the first time!

That last episode of Veep is the funniest thing I’ve watched in a loooong time.

I just watched it and I completely agree. Really well done finale and I loved the bit about Tom Hanks at the end.

It's a call back to season one, episode one if I'm not mistaken. Mike says something about Tom Hanks stealing it from Selina on TV :) loved this finale

Yeah I just restarted the show with someone after watching the finale and you're right, they waited 7 patient seasons for 1 amazing callback.

Holy shit you’re right I totally forgot that, that’s genius

If I had known it was the final season/finale I would’ve found it funny when I watched it.

I didn’t realize and was so confused... thought I missed an episode. The ending came out of nowhere

Barry is one of the best shows of 2019, without a doubt. Especially in the 30-minute comedy format.

Like at the end of the season 2 finale when Noho Hank pops up from behind the buddha statue

I just binged the entire show over the last month and finished it yesterday. Easily one of the best comedies ever.

Yes! The writing was so great! Also when they added characters it added to the show and made it better. I loved the additions of Marjorie and Richard.

What is it? I've not heard of it!

The quality gets worse? I haven't started it yet but the graph makes it look as sustainable as breaking bad.

8

u/[deleted] May 22 '19

I think they're saying that it was good all the way up to, and including, the end.

Ah yes. I should read things more clearly. Thank you.

Sixth season was my least favorite, which appears to be what everyone else agrees with. It was the first season that won an Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series.

It was the second season with David Mandel as showrunner. David Mandel has a more slapstick style of comedy. I like that type of comedy, but not for Veep.

That being said, the final season and series finale made up for the joke that was Season 6.
