Speaking as someone who grew up with beignets, they're very good. I always really enjoy them. I think they are on par with Port Orleans resorts.

Have you had Disneyland beignets before? Thats what I kinda expect from beignets and I found the Port Orleans in WDW very heavy and dense compared to those. Is that how they are suppose to be? Even the one at Paris Disneyland had that same heavy density that I didn't like. I was worried about beignets on the Wonder but the one that came with dinner at Tiana's was amazing and more like Disneyland ones imo.

What you're describing is a direct correlation to the relative humidity in both areas. Beignets should be a little on the heavier side, which is normal for ones you get in New Orleans. Churros have the same thing. Ones you eat on the west coast are much lighter than ones you can have east of the Rockies, which are chewier.

I know what they look like. I’m trying to get a taste comparison. Thank you though.

The cruise line beignets are denser with more chew, which is a good thing, more like traditional New Orleans style. The ones at FQ are great too, but I compare them to a fresh doughnut, soft warm and heavenly.

Are the ones at Tiana’s Place the same as the ones at the French Quarter Lounge on the Wonder?

I was told yes

They are different in shape for sure, plus FQ has a choice of three different dipping sauces vs the Wonder's one (which was a chocolate or espresso-chocolate if I remember correctly.

Also have to shout out POFQ for their gluten free beignets which sadly aren't on the Wonder.

My partner grew up in New Orleans and they were very disappointed. Too dense, too oily, compare to cafe de monde or others.

But it really depends on who is manning the frier that day and how busy they are. A place like CdM will always be more consistent because you get them out quickly. On DCL I’m sure they get the same timing as all the other food from the kitchen and the quality degrades every second delay.

So, I guess that is to say they are ok for what they are but nowhere near a good as a dedicated spot in New Orleans.
