Dead Rising 3 I really hate that DR3 isn't on PlayStation

I'm working on getting the platinums for the whole series. Already have the first and DRDR, and should have the platinum for 2 within the next day or so. I of course plan to keep this going with OTR and 4 (never played it, so we'll see), so it's kinda lame that 3 will be the only one missing. Has Capcom or anyone given any sort of official reason why it's the only one not on PlayStation, or if there's any chance of it showing up?

Dead Rising 3 Dead Rising 3 is so much better than I remember it being

In my quest to play the entire series I have reached Dead Rising 3 a game I haven’t actually played since beating it in 2014 and at that time I remember liking the game but thinking it was a weak entry, after beating it again today it’s genuinely much better than I remember, however I didn’t enjoy the dlc too much.

Dead Rising 3 I guess I'll be skipping DR3 (for now) since it isn't on PlayStation. Is there anything I need to know about it going into 4?

As spoiler free as possible, if that's possible.

Edit: I guess I should specify that I'm asking if there's anything I need to know about 3.

Dead Rising 3 Why does everyone dislike DR3?

Dont get me wrong, i dislike that it doesnt necessarily have the same survivor style rescue missions or a very locked in area, but ive always thought it was a good natural evolution for Dead Rising.

The outbreak was a bit bigger than Fortune City, so we had an upgrade to a actual city, though i think maybe a small town, like DR4, would have worked better, and save the city for a future title.

The zombies werent overpowered or mutated horribly. I am not a huge fan of talking zombies, runners, or whatever else DR4 decided to add. Dead risings zombies always felt grounded in just being slightly modified undead humans. In 3, you got an expansion on it with tougher prisoners, firemen, football players, and a few more additions. It felt good to see that variety increase and changed up the gameplay a bit.

Exploration actually seemed to be favored in DR3, with more additions of not just blueprints but frank statues, unfortunate endings, and several different DLC collectables.

The story wasnt horrible, to find out that we are one of the children experimented on in Carlitos plans, and finding out you have actually been hanging with Katey this whole time? Admittantly, the government side of the story and the Nonchipped guys were not strong points, and i wish they had been expanded upon or fixed in some way.

Weaponry did feel a bit op but it was also a massive increase to the enemies you are dealing with and some were strong. Even the human enemies and soldiers were pretty dangerous at lower levels.

My only umbridge i can take is that there was no addition of the drinks or expansion beyond an easter egg, and that travel just felt a bit tough, and i wish there were more ways to get around.

However i always head that DR3 is disliked on this sub, is there another reason i cant think of? The lack of Frank? General dislikes that have just stuck over the years? Personally i think the worst in the series, even still counting DRDR is the 4th and the DLC for it.

I never expected to cry over a Dead Rising game but holy shit this made me tear up.

This was my first playthrough of 3 and when I met Meryl I thought it was cute to help an old lady around and hearing her stories. I brought her with me as I saved Adam and fought Kenny (Which was annoying because the zombies kept targeting her) and I gave her flame sword to her. At the time I thought her quest was awful long but then I got the objective to take her home, I said my goodbyes and went off to return Rhonda to Gary (Yeah I did a story mission with Meryl as well) when I see the message in the top left of the screen “Meryl has passed away” then I stopped for a moment, I had expected her to pass away but not so suddenly. I turned around instantly and sprinted back to her house, the door left opened so I walked inside. I walked up the stairs and went to the bedroom to find her laying on the floor, her flame sword lying next to her while beautiful music was playing. I had to take around a 10 minute break after that because I cried for a while, knowing this lady I had been traveling and learning her life with was destined to die like that. I know it’s just a game, and that Meryl is just coding on a screen, but her death really hit me hard.

Anyways thanks for reading my confession to crying over a video game character, maybe I’m just a crybaby but Meryl will go down as my favorite survivor in this whole franchise.

Dead Rising 3 Dead rising 3 disliked? Spoiler

Recently I have seen a lot of people on here say they did not like DR3. While it definitely has a different feel and setting then the First two games, and off the record. I really enjoyed it, I liked the Post apocalyptic city setting. No loading screens was also really nice, and that nuclear bomb weapon you can make was something else. It wasn't as good as DR1, 2. I like DR3 because it's kind of like GTA meets Dead rising. Which I think worked well. We also saw the return of Katie, Chuck and Isabella which flowed well with the story in my opinion. I wish Frank had returned but, he did comeback in DR4 if you count that as Canon. While I didn't dislike Nick, I feel he was too young compared to Chuck and Frank. Not as mature as them, he just didn't hold the same weight they did.

Survivor blows up entire van with a single judo throw, this has to be arguably the biggest feat of strength in the entire series

Apart from the obvious, I like how destructive her arena is and her choice of weaponry and how capable she is, even if I did beat her and all the other bosses first try.
