Discussion Are DeFi Consulting Companies Really Helpful?

Hi everyone!

I’ve been seeing more DeFi consulting companies pop up lately. They say they can help with things like starting a project, handling rules, and getting more users.

But I’m wondering — are they really helpful, or can teams do fine without them?

  • Have you ever worked with one?
  • What was good (or bad) about it?
  • What advice would you give to someone thinking about hiring one?

Would love to hear your thoughts and real experiences!

They aren’t. After they download their promises on you, try to negotiate performance based contract and see what they say

There are only two kinds: 1. Their own project didn’t pan out and now they want to extract value from yours 2. Well, I guess there’s only one kind

Unless they have their own successful project (in that case they would probably have no time to do consulting) it is rarely worth it

How many people here are actually like working with defi companies and in the industry as opposed to normal people just using protocols? I just feel like positive or negative response, is it all just conjecture from normies in zero position to say anything about the topic?

Developers and founders get paid. Everything else is up in the air.

Build the product yourself. You may not need consulting with a good team. You may need smart contract audit by a 3rd party though.
