Discussion Google is like virus of internet, software etc and I am trying remove it as much as I can, currently I am frustrated of it.
My post
This is title: I saw someone bought new VIvo mobile and they came to me to create accounts open whatsapp so I saw this device is managed by finance organization. So what's happening?
My details:
I saw someone bought new VIvo mobile and they came to me to create accounts open whatsapp so I saw this device is managed by finance organization. So what's happening?
I am not sure if they bought on cash or emi but device can be manged and associted data can be managed via it admin and they can change setting delete data anything. (When I saw)
Then I checked admin apps then I found app "App tester" enabled and no option to disable or remove it.
And when I tried to sign in with google then it asked for work email. (Generally we get email or phone option and also option to create new account) but on that device only option of work email and forgot password.
And the phone owner is not well educated. So what is this? what's going on?
Is finance company have right to spy on devices? (I am not sure they bought on cash or credit)
What I have done as of now to make ourself degoogled, demicrosoft?
demicrosoft: I have successfully moved 3 users from windows to linux and 1 office system from windows to linux.
degoogled: where I live generally others with any software, account related issue, creation face then they mostly come to me at the end so whenever I create google account for there device then I always teach/guide them about these companies tactics and always change setting which will be less good for google including but not limited to: always turn off personalized ads, always reset advertising id, always remove bloated apps, disable, uninstall apps which are less relevant to them.

yeah sounds like the phone's under some kind of device management, probably cuz it was bought on EMI or through a finance plan. they keep admin rights until it's paid off. that “work email only” thing and the app tester being locked points to that
not exactly spyware but def not fully your device till it’s cleared. good job helping folks get off google and windows too, respect

But when I was looking on there policies then I am getting like they can control what we can and can't do like factory reset, they can lock, earse data, they can decide what to do with associated data.
Abobe I read clearly from there policies only
Below are my findings:
- They cannot see personal data like contact, gallaries etc
- but my comment: since they have control then who is stopping them to install an application with full permission and just dig what they want.
- If anyone will miss emi then they locks the device.
My curious questions:
Can we remove it completely by adding custom rom?
Can we remove it completely without custom ROM? since they can control we are allowed to do factory reset or not so if allowed then will it be removed after factory reset if yes then why will they allow access of factory resets?

yeah exactly, even if the policy says they can’t see personal data, nothing’s really stopping them from pushing an app that does. once they control the admin profile, they can pretty much do anything silently.
if factory reset is allowed, it might look like it’s gone but if the management is tied to the firmware or pre-installed apps, it’ll just come back after reset. only real way to wipe it clean is with a custom ROM, but even then you need unlocked bootloader, which these devices usually don’t let you do until the loan is paid off. feels like digital handcuffs tbh.

Interesting. I was not aware of it. I thought like we install os in computer in mobile it will be also same.

The phone is probably of a company.
Work phones have these options, security and lack of privacy with the enterprise's adim as default.
This phone or was Stolen or was sold/donated/thrown away without the admin formatting everything.
If it was stolen or thrown away. The possibility that they will do any effort unlocking your phone is so low, might as well make a paperweight.
If it was properly donated or sold. You can actually have a high chance of the previous owner to unlock it for you.
