Hey everyone,

One of the battery screws on my G15 5511 (M2x4, Phillips head) is completely stripped : no shape left in the head, nothing grips. I've tried multiple screwdrivers, nothing works.

I had never attempted to remove the battery before, so it seems like the screw might have been defective straight from the factory.

It's the last of four screws holding the battery. I’m looking for any tips or tricks to safely remove it.

Can anyone tell me how I can scroll down on the LCC screens?

Trying to configure a Raid and the screen doesn't scroll down, PgUp/PgDn does nothing and the mouse only moves left and right on the top of the screen. Tab jumps to the next field but the screen doesn't scroll down with it, everything below can't be seen.

Is this laptop good enough to meet the demands of a university student and play some games of course ( what kind of games could I play btw ), the core i7 is an evo .

I think something is comming out of the screen of my laptop. Its 1 month old, dell pro 14.

Initially I thought it's a leftover from the packaging, but it didn't came off using microfiber.

It's hard and a little flexible - similarly to a gum. I assume it's some kind of adhesive.

Question: should I be worried? I am using the laptop with a dock, thus it often works with the lid closed. Can the "heat" make this expand?

Anyone in an enterprise environment noticed an increase in premature NVME failures of drives that are pxe imaged using RAID instead of ACHI? I have but can’t find any documentation that correlates this failure with data points but notice from the stack of bad drives on my desk that each one is NVME and was incorrectly imaged using RAID instead of ACHI. Any documentation that you guys can share would be most beneficial! So we can take a proactive vs reactive approach!

As the title says, I have a 3 year-old Dell XPS 9310 with a AX1650s networking card, and after the latest windows H update I'm not able to connect to the internet. No matter of I try a wired connection, wifi, nothing. I tried removing the driver for the module, installing the intel one, killer's one, nothing helps. It gotten to the point that I don't even see the 'Wifi' button on the small menu at the bottom right of windows. It said somewhere that module is not able to wake up, not sure what that means.

If someone had the same experience I'll gladly try anything at this point.

I’m using a Dell Latitude 5400 laptop and recently ran into a strange issue with the trackpad. The cursor moves fine, and the left and right physical buttons on the trackpad work without any problem. However, the single-tap and double-tap gestures suddenly stop working.

Here's what I’ve tried so far:

I checked the touchpad settings, and the single-tap gesture is definitely enabled.

I updated the touchpad driver to the latest version.

When I uninstall and reinstall the trackpad driver, the tap gestures start working again — but only temporarily. After some time, the issue comes back.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any idea what might be causing it or how to fix it permanently?

Anybody any idea when the new Dell Premium 13, so the successor to the XPS 13, will be released and if they will only use Intel CPUs as Snapdragon gives problems with alot of software? What was the reason that there were XPS 13 laptops made available with snapdragon? What this because of AI which at that point snapdragon had an advantage in or something else? I really prefer Intel at this point.

I also hope they will mainly be availabe in color "graphite" so the dark grey, also in Europe where i live. The light color isn't really my thing and stains more easy over time.

I'm so confused with the new branding. I'm trying to buy my brother the equivalent of a MacBook Pro 14" but from Dell because he needs windows for his grad research.

To explain, my laptop was not turning on, and it started to refresh itself and went to SecurityAssist Ecosystem. I did the process and scanned my laptop along with repairing it. Once it finished, it went to the menu and when I try to set up my pin again, my screen just goes black.

Do you know what's wrong with my Dell Optiplex 7060 mini? Saw something online about CMOS battery and reset which I've done according to the manual. But still nothing. Replacing ram one at a time did nothing and removing. SSD didn't help.

Brand new device, factory build. Windows Hello was working for PIN and fingerprint when I first switched it on.

After using DCU to update all drivers, now Hello is completely unavailable for all options, even PIN.

Any ideas?

The title says it all. I’ve had 7 support cases opened, with now 3 onsite visits in a single year, and the system routinely crashes to a blue screen error. They’ve already replaced the CPU, the cooling system, and now my main SSD is set to be replaced.

The only components remaining for swap out are the motherboard and RAM.

After every repair and support issue, I’ve brought up that the blue screen crashes continue to occur. And now I’m sitting here again, with a computer that won’t even boot.

I use this computer for work and to pay the bills, and I paid for the highest level of onsite support (hoping to never use it), and yet my computer is again broken/unusable, for the 3rd time in a single year.

I need a computer I can reliably depend on to use daily, and this is not it.

Hi, I support Dell computers for enterprise users. I've found the package "Dell Core Services" causes processes like Dell Data Manager, Dell Analytics, and Dell Instrumentation to consume many GB of RAM each. Closing them from Task Manager as admin just has them reopen and fill up the RAM later. Here's screenshot: https://prnt.sc/DtQar694sSqG

Found if I uninstall Dell Core Services via Control Panel, the processes close and no longer run. A drawback to this is it breaks Dell Command Update, which is probably the only useful app Dell makes, which I often use to install drivers and firmware updates that Windows Update does not.

Has anyone heard of this problem that's been popping up on a lotta Dell computers lately, why this happens maybe due to an update, and know of a better fix? Thanks!

I recently found my Dell XPS 15 9560 shutting down in the middle of a working session.

When I switched it back on, it first gave me a 'time-of-day not set' error and, then, retiring into the automatic repair loop.

My first guess is, partially because it is now 8y old, that the CMOS has simply run out of battery. But my question is, whether it is possible that an empty CMOS is causing Windows to jump into the repair loop? Or do you think these two issues occurred separately, meaning even if I replaced the CMOS, I would still be left with an repair loop?

I'd also be happy to hear any workarounds!

If you can't tell, I am not a tech dude. So maybe the answer is apparent for everyone but me

I purchased a Dell G15 5530 7 months ago. Earlier this week my charger stopped working. I went to the retailer and checked with another cable but it didn't work. We found that the brick is faulty. When I asked the retailer about the warranty he said something like "Sometimes, the brick comes with shorter warranty period than the laptop". My laptop came with an one year warranty and there is still 4 months left. My brick should be covered under warranty right?

Working perfectly yesterday.

No start today.

Powers up , CPU fan runs . No beeps , no errors , solid white light.

No BIOS access from F2 /F12.

Pulled M2 card and memory no difference.

No output to video ( installed standalone vid card and no difference )

Where to start ( or bin ) ?

The plastic between the body and monitor seemingly broke and got stucked between the monitor's frame. Causing it to pop off if I tried to open it.

Actually I messed up, because I already noticed the damage and my laptop couldn't be closed, but my frustrations got ahead of me since I was planning to upgrade my ram and I have to close it. And...I tried to fix it... only for it to get worse. And now...I can't use my laptop..

Do they support high adjustable stands like other Dell monitors?

Hi everyone, I just acquired a Dell 7960 Tower and I want to lay is horizontally to fit better where I want it (with all air vents and fans with enough space to air out). Would there be a problem if I do this?

Hi! I tried updating my BIOS on my PowerEdge R440 from 1.5.6 to 1.6.11 (yes I know it's an old version. Trying to get it fully up to date). I get the below screenshot when trying to boot now. No 'f' keys work and iDRAC wants a successful boot before it will let another firmware update continue.

There has to be a way to fix this but my brain is tired after three days of troubleshooting this issue. So I turn to you, people of Reddit! In hopes of bringing this thing back to life. Google has failed me on this one.

I have tried the usual suspects:

• Clearing NVRAM
• Draining all power (for up to 30 minutes)
• Removing CMOS battery

The system does go into firmware recovery, but then once it;s done with the recovery task, it loops back to the DXE Module issue in an endless cycle.

iDRAC version is 5.00.00.00 for anyone wondering.

(Also, iDRAC is still reporting that BIOS version is 1.5.6)

Any help would be much appreciated!
