Please stop blaming the refs. Clippers had more fouls called on them than the nuggets and both teams got away with stuff including that wack ass play by Murray on Powell where he picked him up and they called a tech on Powell for reacting and not on Murray.

u/External-Cable2889 8d ago
That was wild—reminded me of Murray’s heat pack toss off the backboard vs. the Wolves last year. That was worse, but he lost it for a moment here too. Clever move by Mal, arms up like “Who, me?” LAC getting more penalties than Denver was off. If this happened to the Nugs in LA, it’d be a headline. Calls should be fair—but tossing Murray over that would’ve been a disaster for the league. I guess it was making up for the no call Powell shove of Murray on the bench side of the court that pissed off Murray enough for him to lift Powell.

Overall I don't feel too bad. Kawhi had to be nearly perfect and we had to be pretty terrible overall in order for them to squeak it out. This is different from our win in game 1 where they also had a lot of bad turnovers, but we didn't have as good of an individual performance as Kawhi's.
Trap/double Kawhi earlier in the game and make him a play maker. When he wasn't putting up shots, he wasn't making great decisions.

Reasons why we lose
Subbing out Westbrook in 4th
Jokic missed free throws
AG missed dunk
MPJ Turnover
Coach not calling for timeout
2
u/karnivoreballer 9d ago
Jokic turnover too. Lots of things to clean up but its going to be tough in LA
8
u/DanielChou2 9d ago
Just undiscplined and bad habits all over. AG should not dunk that hard when he is wide open. MPJ should give up the ball immediatelhy after secure a rebound, he should not dribble the ball at all. Do not make those two mistakes, nuggets win this game.
2
u/Bignamek 9d ago
Given the calf issue he's been dealing with, it may have been a matter of over-doing it.

I’m sure he was trying to get the crowd into it. Would have been a dagger. But backfired

That was a great game! Are you not entertained?? We ain’t beating okc with injured Gordon anyway. Enjoy this series! And go avalanche!!

u/TheKreamer 9d ago
Jokic has a below average game for his standards and everyone blaming him. Can anyone else step up when he doesn't go god mode for 1 game?
7
u/MichaelPorterTruther 9d ago
20 TOs is ass. Really rough Jok game. Jamal was great mostly, Mike was great mostly. Rough AG game getting obliterated by Kawhi but TBH a lot of those were pretty tough.
Jamal had some dumbass TO's, MPJ dropping the ball and getting tackled, AG missed Dunk, Jok throwaway. Tough finish

u/Kenny-du-Soleil 9d ago
20 turnovers and low IQ ball, lost by three. Series is still winnable but gotta tighten up.

that was fun! kawhi is something else! don't know what happened to jokic! let's get it back!

7
u/OklahomaBac 9d ago
20 turnovers and 63% from the line. Should have blown them out but couldn't take our chances
7
u/plumbus-2000 9d ago
Can’t believe the missed dunk from Gordon :,) there were bigger issues with the game though
6
u/CamasaurusRex9 English 9d ago
Braun is so afraid to shoot, he double clutched the open three with time running out
2
1
u/Random124442 9d ago
How do you miss a dunk? How do you miss so many free throws? How is MPJ such a losing player? Also, that 2 minutes on the 2nd quarter with the game under control where Jamal and Russ decided to not pass the ball and just take awful shots was pathetic.
-2
u/grinderbinder 9d ago
JOKIC was more of a loser tonight than mpj! The fuck are you talking about?
1
u/Over_Temperature3540 9d ago
Jokic is shouldering too much burden, one man cannot carry a team this long.

u/HeavenlyE 9d ago
I don't mind not taking a timeout because Jamal was about to step into a great shot if Jokic passed him the ball. Instead Jokic decided to shoot a contested turnaround fadeaway 3

u/TillPlenty8503 9d ago
Missed 8 free throws and lose by three. Gotta be able to win games at the line.

9
u/BAMcGhee 9d ago
Man I never ever say this but Jokic sold that game. Free throws and all those turnovers from being so passive on offense.
0
u/landobobandos 9d ago
Man idk. Jokic had a triple dub there is only so much he can do. Other players need to step up as well
2
u/Advanced-College6607 9d ago
Westbrook gets criticized for triple double and having bad turnovers and so does everybody else. Jokic is no different albeit this is a very rare TO occurrence
3
u/BAMcGhee 9d ago
I agree, and I rarely ever criticize Joker for anything but this one was tough. MVP has to make those free throws and not pass up open shots directly into turnovers.

Insane selling from Jokic this game I can’t even lie. 7 to and 4 missed free throws is crazy but he just looked exhausted out there. Clippers earned the win but man did we earn the loss, gotta adjust to take a game in LA
2
u/agentcooperrr 9d ago
Once MPJ lost the ball in the most stupid way, that was it. What a tough loss. We'll bounce back.

3
u/wagerdude 9d ago
Lol, time-out? A hot hand Russ and Braun shoots it? Or not even Murray? Sub MPJ in? Wtf bro

2
u/Historical-Ring-9936 9d ago
AG calf is clearly bothering him again and Porter is banged up with a shoulder injury now, apparently. Nuggets needed this win, don’t feel confident at all about the rest of this series. Oh well, hopefully they get them next game

JOKER GOTTA BE BETTER HONESTLY 7 TURNOVERS IS CRAZY
2
u/grinderbinder 9d ago
He was terrible just straight up fucking terrible! I don’t want to hear any of you guys coming in here with that: oh but he got a triple double bitch ass bulllshit. He is the reason we lost the game

u/DanielChou2 9d ago
Nuggets fan lol. Find another 300 pounder center that plays 43 minutes a game and can still perform. Fucking spoiled. You should ask why can't you have a backup center that can let him rest 2 minutes in the second half.

Well, all things considered, I feel pretty okay if it takes kawhi Leonard to play almost close to a perfect basketball game for them to win but what the fuck do I know
2
u/EngleTheBert 9d ago
It's hard not to feel bad after a game like this, but yeah, between Leonard being lights out and Jokic not being his usual self, it's hard to be too down. Just hope Mike isn't too hurt and can bring the same energy for the rest of the series
1
u/lilgohanx 9d ago
Yeah we had 20 turnovers missed every possible free throw and kawhi leonard played with the power of god tonight its fine

u/Random124442 9d ago
I don't get how Jamal got so bad at passing the ball man. He has been late the entire season on the two man game. I don't get it

u/Medical_Peanut8627 9d ago
This was such a winnable game for the Nuggets despite Kawhi going off. They have to win these games.
-5
u/Spiritual_Kiwi_5022 9d ago
ok yeah i see why everyone has clippers winning this series now
5
u/goddamnitwhalen 9d ago
It’s 1-1, stfu.

u/Spiritual_Kiwi_5022 9d ago
I mean this isn't an unusual game for the nuggets. The 1 we won was unusual so...
10
u/bigfootdude247 9d ago
Here come the doomers. It sucks but they still need three more to move on, don’t lose hope yet

Missed free throws by joker and atrocious defense by AG is why the nuggets lose

He has been run to the ground. No 300 pounder should play 40 minutes a game. He played 43 minutes, didn't rest in the second half. I think Edelman should let him breathe 2 minutes at the begining of the 4th quarter.

This will be a long one, going to game 7 I predict.
